A free CK2 to EU3/4 converter obviously, when it does happen.

They've said before, in at least one interview, that they would never officially release such a converter. IIRC, the guy said that people who play the game properly will end the game with an enormous blob, and it would not improve gameplay to have that converted.

I think a big events-based DLC might occur and I also believe that there will be a big update for the Byzantine Empire and the Orthodox faith in general. Perhaps an expansion that will extend the time of the game by creating a new starting point around the Battle of Tours.

I have a decent amount of faith in the last one. I mean, Charles Martel is already in the game.

They weren't originally playable. In the demo there was a bug which allowed you to play a Muslim by tricking the game into thinking you had selected a Christian. It's misleading to claim they were "playable." They were made unplayable but a bug interfered with this. This was corrected for the launch version.

I don't think this is too far from the truth. IIRC they want DLCs to not break the game for multiplayer - read - they want people who have a certain DLC to be able to play against someone who doesn't. That means it changes purely aesthetic things like Skin, Clothing, Sprites, Music. Since we've already gotten Music here is my guesses:
  • A big expansion for Character appearances (skin, hair, shapes)
  • A big clothing expansion (head gear, shirts, different cultures)
  • A sprite expansion (regional stuff, religious stuff, maybe tiered changes)
  • A religious expansion (new icons for the different religions as well as special clothes for priests/imams)

That is what I think. Honestly, I am okay with that. I'll probably grab one or two, but not all of them. Never got any of the EU3 sprite packs, but I know for some people it is an important thing.
I'm not sure, they specifically said expansions. They called the Shields and Mongol faces pack DLC.

If I had to guess I would say something for Pagans, something for Orthodox, and something for Republics and Theocracies. Possibly a map expansion and earlier start date included in one of them or with a patch.

The most things in this topic would be patch expansions not dlc expansions. Combat, trade, timeline is not really for a DLC. That would affect to many of the files. Look at Sword of Islam! The not make all the new files in the DLC. The new files are in the patch.

In the Crusader Kings Consultan the Creator Interview today he said the following statement:

Fåhraeus: Thanks for the interview! I am happy to report that Crusader Kings II is still doing very well and the future looks bright. We have planned the next four expansions in some detail, and I think people will be pleased with the subject matters!

Anybody have any idea on what the next 4 DLC's could be? Here's to hoping that one of them is strictly for combat!

One "main" dlc changing a lot, like Sword of Islam.
Three minor dlc, like music and character potraits. As far as I know there are music/portrait dlc coming with SoI.

Orthodox is an obvious one, but it might be a bit tricky to get it rolling without interferring with peoples ability to play them allready

Pagan have been regularily asked for so I wouldn't be all that surprised if that was one as well

expanding on trade and republics might be another one, but given the focus on the game i'm not one to put money on that one

An ability to have naval combat and differencate boats from army transports and combat could be interesting to see pan out (and letting them support sieges, by blocking harbors) ... would also strengthen Venice/Genoa since they could use their cheap navies to help them seige stuff

Trade Republics could be awesome but hard. Your goal would obviously be to create a merchant dynasty like the Grimaldis or di Medicis. The ahrd thing would be the Republics are Republics, and you thus have to work hard to get your son/ nephew/ brother elected after your death.

Trade Republics could be awesome but hard. Your goal would obviously be to create a merchant dynasty like the Grimaldis or di Medicis. The ahrd thing would be the Republics are Republics, and you thus have to work hard to get your son/ nephew/ brother elected after your death.

Or you can play the head of the dynasty also landless. That would be really hard politic. Eventually there is a senat or the Great Council and you are a member of this. It can be very funny, if they make it right.

From what I heard from Doomdark's recent live streaming, Pagans and Republics are very likely additions - which I think is great!

As for combat, the best news is 1.06 will be the start of an ongoing improvement with the system, giving leaders much more importance than simply relying on the armies' size.
