Hey P thanks, for the next release I will try and do two files to make the music optional. Other mods have done this. My problem is my crappy internet. It used to be 1 to 2 mbps and now it is 3 to 4 for 67 bucks a month. So it did take me 5 hours to upload the mod. I also have problems with my solar electric system which crashes the power to my house if I get too much sun. If it does crash I do not know if Mega will kill my upload and I have to start over. Well that is what happens when you live off the grid. So no Media Fire upload and not one person out of the thousands who have downloaded the mod will do it for me. The last release that is exactly what did happen to save me the hassle. So we have no MF link now.

Yikes, that is slow. You must have Windstream or something like that :(

Maybe a problem with your inverter. No reason you should receive brown/black outs due to too much sun. Either way you should use an uninterruptible power supply battery for computer and communication equipment with a non-standard continuous power feed.

I don't know if this is an oversight or a bug, but I was playing as the US and had an event for Roosevelt's inauguration even though I didn't pick him. This wouldn't be a huge deal, but I can't even find the event to temporarily disable it.

I made a suggestion on Leon Trotsky in Norway elsewhere. Maybe it is interesting enough for events.

I can imagine several things. First of all not letting him stay. This could be more likely the more right the leading party is (nvm, he moved in in 1935). Trotsky was accused of encouraging mass strikes in France. The Johan Nygaardsvold led government began to exhibit disquiet about Trotsky's actions and received pressure from Soviet. Two dramatic possibilities could be that Norway decided to let him stay and do as he pleases (strengthening the popularity of communism and increasing Soviet's belligerence? Probably decreased relations with countries at odds with communism) or to hand him over to Soviet (1 Nor slider movement towards authoritarian and big increase in relation with Soviet. Increased Stalinism popularity, decreased Leninism popularity? Leninism and Stalinism are different party ideologies in-game, right? If so, increase in Leninism and decrease in Stalinism world wide if Lenin gets free toils in Norway?)

There are some good possibilities here. Would it make a difference if Trotsky didn't manage to smuggle out The Moscow "Confessions" if it takes the historical path?

Hey M yes I know, I have a UPS but it says there is a problem with my house wiring. It would be very expensive to re-wire my house. From all the research I did pretty much all inverters shut down when your battery power goes to 15 VDC plus or minus a half volt. I am planning on buying a new one though very soon. I need a backup regardless. I hope it helps. The one I want to buy is rated very well.

Related to my last comment: I was able to find the Roosevelt inauguration event and comment it out. Then, for some reason, Hoover stopped being available in 1934 and the president became William McKinley. Who's dead. It wasn't too difficult to fix, but pretty weird.

Hey A if you send me the fixed file I would be happy to include it in the next release. Please test it for a bit though. This mod is huge as was noted above and many cooks made the soup so it will never be perfect. It is pretty good at this point but, I am happy to improve it when I can. My coding skills only include copying events and making small fixes. If I ever get a good coder again on the team I would like to make improvements and add more alt-history.

It was really simple. i just commented out the Roosevelt inauguration event (which is redundant in GC anyway) and changed Hoover's retirement from 1934 to 1940.
How do I send you the files?

Hey A it is pretty easy. You just zip or rar them on your desktop is easy and then upload them here using the upload a file tab. If you could tell me which folder it came from I can then unzip it into that folder and overwrite the old file. Voila it is done.

"Mods" goes in db/events in the Grand Campaign folder.
"ministers_usa" goes in db/ministers.
Both of these worked without any bugs. I tried to make a few other changes to the US elections, but I had mixed results. What I was trying to do was comment out "one_action" and a few qualifiers for the election events to make it so you could actually choose who you wanted to elect. For some reason, this worked for the 1936 election, but for 1940, it just made the election not happen. Not sure why.

Hey all a few days back I mentioned the problem with the Allies dowing Germany soon after the Nazis come to power. I also mentioned two possible bandaid fixes until the next version is released. Well I tried both and the one that works is to load up as France and use the Freedom cheat to drop their interventionism down by 4 clicks. I continued with my game as Germany and it is summer of 1940 and I just took out the UK with my multiple invasion strategy. I had 3 invasion fleets and invade at 3 different places to get the UK AI to move around it's troops to stop me. They did but in the process they left Cardiff with only one division. I swooped in and invaded their and was able to get my beach head . I then popped in a total of around two dozen divisions and got them to surrender pretty quickly using blitz tactics with small pockets. So now I have England as a puppet. They make a good one too. So I am gonna invade the Sovs early which always seems to work better than a historic Barbarossa. Anyway feel free to give that a try. The UK Empire breaking up events are fun until it is gone. Then it seems that Canada inherits the Fleet. After I take out the Sovs I like to invade and take out the US from a base in Canada or the Caribbean. Have fun folks.

Hey all I am going on vacation in a few days. I do not know how much access to the internet I will have. So I may not be able to answer any questions in a timely fashion. When I get back I would like to put up a fixed version of the mod in two parts for those who do not need to download the music. You can keep the music folder from this or any previous version of the mod to save time and there will be no more hot fixes for that version, I hope.

Question about HQ units. Do they serve any real purpose in the game, or are they just there for historical/immersion.

Hey O they are very important since they increase the number of units that a general can command . Same for naval and air leaders. If you hover your cursor over a general it tells you how many units it can command. With an HQ present the number goes up. Overstacking has a big penalty. Also HQ units are pretty fast so in am emergency they can get somewhere quickly. They are not very strong but if used right they can be very good. I usually like to have one HQ for every so many troops. You can stack them with units or move them independently. You might want to experiment with them a bit to get the idea. Overstacking can make or break an attack. Same thing with bombers and fighters, they can really help an attack to succeed faster. The interceptors just protect against the bombers. AA also shoots down bombers, the more the better. I hope this helps.

Hi Delanonne, did you fix Allies declaring war Germany after Hitler's rise to power ?

Hey M it will be fixed soon. I am making an event for UK and France AI to lower their interventionism by 4. It will be in the next release. In the meantime as a bandaid fix you can load up as France, use the freedom cheat and lower their interventionism by 4. Save and reload up your game as Germany. I have already done this and it worked fine. The screenie above is the game as Germany where I did this. I am deep in Russia now after invading early. Let me know if anyone has a problem using the cheat codes. I have also taken out the music and will post a download of only 480 megs or so. You can then just take the music folder from this version, put it on your desktop or somewhere and then pop it into the folder for the mod. I also have a light version of the music which is around 300 mb or so. I will put that on the new version as an optional download.
