I don't want an ahistorical Russia....Never said anything about it. And either way, WW1 Romania had nothing to do with Russia.

Started 2 games as canada and just watched WW1 unfold.

First game - Historical WW1 end
Second game - Historical WW1

Right now i'm on the Historical WW1 save and

1. Romania never joined WW1. They just stood there being neutral.
2. Versailles treaty gave Bassarabia to romania and Transylvania to Austria. (which quickly became Hungary).
3. Soviet Hungary did declare war on Romania, but since Hungary had more land, more manpower, etc the peace between the 2 countries was a white peace. Transylvania is still owned by Hungary.

I looked through the mod files and some events required for a historical Romania are there. They just won't trigger.

This is what should happen on a Historical WW1:

1. Romania joins the war in 1916. (it never did join on my play throughs)
2. Shortly after the Soviet union makes peace Germany and Austria-Ungaria make peace with Romania.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty_of_Bucharest_(1918)
2.1. This peace treaty gives Bassarabia to Romania, and Germany+Austria-Hungary takes the southern part. That was the richest oil region west of the Black sea.
3. Shortly after the war ends Romania gets the Proclamation of Union event. This gives Transylvania. (<- could be grouped up with the versailles event)
4. Because of point 3 Hungary declared war on Romania. (1920) (and it even makes sense, right now in my playthrough Hungary has the land but still declared war)
5. The war ends with a white peace and a new Hungarian government.

Here's a nice gif showing what i mean. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:RomaniaBorderHistoryAnnimation_1859-2010.gif

So no, even if you pick Historical WW1 or Historical WW1 end Romania isn't historical. I get it, nobody cares about such a insignificant country.

Without a historical romania:
1. Little Entente is pointless as it was an alliance made to prevent Hungary from expanding.
2. Second Vienna award makes no sense.

I'll show myself out, it seems that i'm supposed to make my own mod if i dare to point out some historical inaccuracies.

First of all welcome to Paradox games, where everything becomes always ahistorical, any time, as soon as you unpause the game. Which is great and good that way, or otherwise you always have to play as the alllies to win.
Second, AFAIK Romania joines, once Russia controls certain key provinces in galicia, then they will join. Sry, I don't know much about Romanian history, but that seems pretty plausible. So I guess the Russians failed to conquer the key provinces. Tough luck, but happens.
Third, in all of my countless playthroughs, i never ever saw Romania lose the war against Hungary. Never. Again, it seems you either had tough luck, or a treaty event still has to trigger, which gives them both the historical borders. I had always the right borders in the end.

Oh, and another thing, did you look at the sheer size of the mod? Do you really really think everything i done already, both historically and ahistorically? Listen, nobody in this mod ever said anything about Romania being insignificant. Because, spoiler alert, it isn't. But, and careful here comes another spoiler, we kinda have to concentrate on the big nations first, because more people play them. So instead of rage quiting a mod because something happened you don't like in one or two playthroughs, and feeling personally attacked (by whom? I'm literally the first one in this whole forum who is a bit unfriendly to you...) why don't you calm down, start a new game and look, if it's different. Or play as Romania, and just try a world conquest with them, may be hard but fun, i guess.

I am actually in progress at the moment on connecting a White Russia to the historical WW2 event series. If you're all interested I can post what I have already; it's good enough to get you through the interwar period into conflict with Nazi Germany already.

Hey J that sounds good, please pm me about it.

Question:

How do I disable the 'sitzkreig' event? France declared war on Germany in 1938 after Germany annexed Austria. France was done not long after. However, in 1939 I got the sitzkreig event essentially disabling my bombers. It's mid 1941 now and it still hasn't gone away. What is the trigger that gets rid of this? Is there an event # I can put in via the console that can disable it? Thanks!

Observation:

I notice that Germany cannot perform the Schlieffen plan during the WWI phase of the game. They usually don't even make it a single province into Belgium. Is this WAD?

Great mod btw. Having a blast save for the issue above with my planes heh.

I am playing TGC as the UK, and I realize that I can escape the naval treaty of washington by waging random war, in my case was getting greece, czech, austria, yugo and roumania into allies and declaring war on turkey in 1927. After that I could freely upgrade and build BBs and CVs in great quantity, while other non Allies countries could not. In 1914 I did not join ww1 (luckily, the French not only resisted Schlieffen but also turned the tide and even conquered some German provinces by 1916, which was an extremely big luck for me, but this made me not sure about whether the German did use Schlieffen or not) and spend more than 2 years building IC, airforce, ships, tanks and upgrade industry, armor, art, naval and air techs ahead historical date and only joined war in early to mid 1916. During these 2 years, I also focused IC on supplies, traded goods and supplies (and even blueprints for entente faction) for money with both sides and also the US and Japan using both agreements and negotiations, and used that money (I edited the game so that UK have the highest beginning stock of money in 1914 like real history) to invest at least substantially in national research to speed up research. I ended the war having more IC than the USA, with around 60k energy, 40k metal, 30k rare, 20k oil, 45k supplies and 8k-10k money :v, and I did not use cheats until 1928. I also maintained clear lead in nearly all naval, industrial and air techs, for at least one level. Now, in 1935, I am planning to get ethiopia into Allies to get early war against Italy to annex all its North African colonies and enforce disarmament. However, I realize that I still need an independent fascist Italy to join pact of steel to trigger austria, czech and poland chain events, so I would not turn Italy into my puppet. However, I have a question, should I completely abandon cavalry now, and just replace them with tanks and motorized divisions? Actually I almost stop using and upgrading cavalry since around 1925, as I believe them to be obsolete. Additionally, are there any ways to escape airforce 3 squadron limit for each type permanently?

Hey Jack do you have the latest version of the mod? What is your checksum? Nobody else is reporting this problem and I have never seen it in all of the hundreds of games that I have played. I am worried that you have an older version or a bad download. Post one on page one has the correct install procedure. Please check this out and let me know. Oh and has anyone else had any problems with this event?

Hey T the Naval Treaty is broken if you go to war. Otherwise it will end on its' own usually by 1930 or so. All of the force limits go away in the mid 30s depending on if you are democratic or a dictatorship. Cavalry and not useless since they can be converted to armor units and in fact later they become armored cavalry units which are pretty good.

PS The mod is set up to give a historical result for now. We spent endless hours trying to get WW1 to work out right. So the Germans need to lose almost all of the time. If they get too far into Belgium there is a good chance that they will take Paris so for now this is the way it is designed. Later if we ever have the manpower we want to add alt-history outcomes and options but, the way things are going it will never happen. This mod has been downloaded thousands of times and we cannot get two coders to help us out.

Hi delanonne, I hope you are well and thank you for your continued support of this mod! I have the same problem and I pretty much only play non-major countries. It disables the range of my TAC, NAV and fighters also if I recall correctly. I've mentioned it in a previous post somewhere in this thread. I am using the latest mod of TGC when I play.

OK everyone I loaded up some saved games and was able to duplicate the problems. The events are in db/events/wif events. They do cut off the range for Tacs and Navs and reduce it for Strats but they can still fly as do the fighters and interceptors. The events are supposed to end in mid April of 1940. I am not sure at this point why they are not ending like they are supposed to. I did however find that you can manually trigger the end events in the console which will restore the range for the units. Here is how to do it. Hit F12 to open the console. Then type event 1000137 and enter for England, 1000139 for France or 1000141 for Australia. Then type F12 and escape to close the console. This is only for your country. If you want to do it for another country then you have to type the event number and the abbreviation for the country you want for example event 1000141 AST for Australia. Sorry if this is confusing. If you have no experience using the console it may seem difficult. Now in theory these events are to simulate the Phony War during the start of WW2 in Europe. If you have any problems please let me know. If I knew why it was not working I would fix it but, I do not and do not really have anyone to look at it at this point. Well maybe but, I am not sure if they are available. So I will try to get it fixed if I can find someone to help. In the mean time this seems to work fine.

@Handsome_Jack

In the game you described, did France still exist during the phony war event? And was it annexed before April 1940? If yes, then thats the problem, the events currently need both england and france at war with germany to trigger, we will change that.

If not, it may be smth different, but I can't find it...

Has the expanded tech tree been fixed? I haven't played this mod in over year, but an older version didn't have tech tree bonuses for many of the newly created units. For example, a DDG wouldn't receive any of the positioning upgrades that a conventional DD receives when researching the naval doctrines. Corvettes and Frigates receive no bonuses. These ships thus enter the game with terrible positioning.

Hey P we have not done much with the tech tree. We did not make it. It is from CWTT mod. One guy did some work on the tech tree but it was not for 1.04 Full so we cannot use it. We are working now to make the Commie Germany events work right. If you want a real challenge then try that. It should be in the next release. We do not have anyone to work on the tech tree now. With the lack of help we are very limited in what we can do. So we have to prioritize the resources that we do have. If anyone wants to help they can PM me.

Whatever happened to 1900-2020 expansion?

Hey N see the reply to Pasha. We do not have the manpower to fix all the stuff that we want done. There is a guy who is supposed to convert the 1897 scenario of the 1914 mod to DH. If that happens then we would have to try and integrate it into the mod. It would be very hard after that to get a historical WW1 though. We shall have to see if we get the conversion.

I understand. I'm going to open up those files and see if I can make those fixes and send them to you. I'm not much of a modder, but I can't imagine it being too difficult. I think I just need to add the air and naval models to the to the doctrines.

Hi, one problem is that Assembly Line Exp tech should be in 1913 :). In addition, as I am playing as the UK, I can see that there are some problems with battleship techs, as historically G3 and N3 classes outclassed King George V or so, and SHBB tech should not be ''Superb Class'', which did not exist even on paper, as this was actually a pre ww1 class. Actually, G3 and N3 beasts would have outclassed all real-time WW2 BBs.
