I installed EU 2 and immediately installed the patch to 1.08

Now I have 2 scenarios in the game with nearly identical names:
Age of Enlightenment and
Age of Enlightement.

On the harddisk the files for the scenarios have dates of 07.12.01 and 22.03.03.

When I start them they look (to me) identical with the same nations and the same time.

Is there a difference I don´t see?


Is there a way to change the names of the scenarios to include the starting year in the scenario selection in the game, e.g. Age of Enlightenment 1773 or so?


Are the "scenarios" that did not come with the game but can be downloaded scenarios that can be added to the game without changing the game (just another entry in the scenario selection) or do those change the whole game?

The older file is probably for EU1.

I believe one of them was accidentally included in one of the patches.

Not of what I know, although you could change the name in the file itself.

Depends, some, fx: Hivetaisa, ryoken's balanced 1453 scenario etc. are just another entry in the scenario screen, while some, fx: AGCEEP, MDS, Age of Imperialism etc. change bits of the game, but usually install into a moddir (modification directory) , so you can still play the original game (vanilla), and the modifications.

I do not own EU1. How would the file come into my EU2 game folder

Because bits of EU2 are leftovers from EU1, coming on the CD.
Although i don't think this particular situation is an example of this.
