Newbie: Offering peace!

I've started getting a lot better at my wars since reading this thread.

Picking your allies to either start or never get in a war with certain countries has become part of my gameplan and my stability is a lot healthier nowadays

You're quite welcome

Try to avoid battles, but conquer as many provinces as you can get, before the enemy has brought his troops to you. Try to conquer the capital and 3 other provinces, now wait until the enemy offers you peace (while still conquering more provinces). If you're lucky you can even get three provinces!

This is just the way I do, and it works most of the time!

Its funny, the thing that pushed me here was the Civfanatics forum is closed..., Still, this has made me replay EU again, in preparation for an EU2 UK release. You are a civer, are you a Fanatic-civer?

Austrian Explorers

I think the random explorer event can only happen if you have a coastal CB province with a port. I've not seen it happen in non-IGC games (as Austria), but with the Istria CB shield added in IGC, I get them there.

I had one game last week in which I got 2 explorers in 12 years... within 30 years of capturing Istria, too. Between this and building a shipyard, I ended up having about 10 colonies in this game (the Falklands, Timor, the 2 Hawaii provinces, and the 6 from Baja to Sacramento).

Thereby he can gain hegimony in Europe, as he could control all 7 of the major starting nations!
