Hi all, :)
New to the forum and the game. I set aside Victoria, and decided to try something a little easier first. As suggested in a couple of FAQs/guides, Austria in the Grand Campaign is a good place to start, but I am unable to find a guide I can follow as I go. I did the tutorial ingame, and that seemed a bit uncomplete, and I read here the manual included is out of date.
Thanks for your help in advance!

Two things: I don't know if anyone wrote a direct step by step guide.

And second, if there's a country you don't need one for, it's Austria. Almost all your main land is GIVEN to you through events - Austria gets some of the most kickass events in the game.

I'm sure someone else will reply here with more indepth help. :)

Basically, get ready to lead the world in tech, and to inherit like five countries.

Just remember that you will triple in size in about a century when you inherit bohemia and hungary into the hapsberg empire. Keep that in mind, and protect those two countries from being gobbled up (hungary sometimes gets carved by OE, and Bohemia sometimes gets DA'd by Poland)

Like said, remember that you'll inherit Burgundy, Bohemia and Hungary, and also Milan if you choose so.

Inheritances mean you get provinces at 0.25 BB per province, so let's help your future lands be as large as possible. Ally with them, feed them as much provinces as possible. ;)

For what it's worth, play it safe earlier when you're small. Things pick up in the 1500s.

I try going innovative earlier on when Austria is small. Stability doesn't really cost anything when you have 4-5 provinces, plus you can turbo-tech yourself for a while. Then I go more toward narrowminded once I inherit everyone because Hungary or Bohemia or someone always ends up picking up a bunch of wrong-religion provinces and stability gets a little expensive. On the plus side, you become fantastically wealthy.

If you're playing with the AGCEEP, I don't bother with the Hussites. As far as I know, you get to inherit Bohemia basically whatever happens to it.
