Werewolf CXLII: Civilization!

A new Civilization game is starting. It has a great many countries and city-states, but not all of them will reach the Future Era. You see, there are whispers in the background. Spies report of an alliance created in secret, one which is not afraid to use some of the more immoral methods to achieve victory.

You are the leader of a country, be it a leader of the past, present or someplace else. Are you one of the righteous, or part of one of the cunning alliances? Will you lead your nation to glory and prosperity, or to death and decline? Time to find out!

Werewolf CXLIII - League of Heroes of the Ancients

Some crazy temporal shenanigans caused by Chronos, Darkterror the Faceless Void and Zilean the Chronokeeper have caused a strange anomaly that has brought Newerth, Runeterra and Fell Woods together in a massive, chaotic disruption to their current existence, and thrown them to an entirely different world. Hunted by armored soldiers with metal bricks that spit fire, and mouthless beings that emit blades of energy from their arms, they have temporarily found sanctuary on a quiet corner of this world called Aiur... yet a stranger threat now eats from within.

For League of Heroes of the Ancients, salvation only comes from activating a crystal they have to master before another takes them.

WILL THEY SURVIVE?

Werewolf Lite CCLVIII Is up

Ideally 17 players, deadline is 22:00(That should be 1800 my time in Florida) GMT, ie roughly 7.5 hours after this was posted.

Usual roles, werewolf baddies that hunt at night, a goodie scanner and misc meat-shield for him. Keep in mind that this is my first attempt so please post your votes in bold and separate from any other sentences. It doesn't have to be a separate post, just segregated and bold. I do not like how the seer always seems to die the first night. Therefore there will be an apprentice seer who will not know he is seer until after the seer dies. If the seer scans the apprentice, it will read as the apprentice. I know that this means the apprentice will just get killed on night 2, but I have to try.

Japan had been transformed from a loose federation of uji in the fifth century to an empire. This is a period of cultural flowering. You are in a village outside the capitol of Nara. The local daimyō is holding a festival with entertainers, merchants, and artists. Many tournaments are planned. On the second night of the festival, a fierce typhoon comes ashore. The typhoon washes out the roads cutting communication with the outside world. As the storm rages our story begins.

Werewolf CXLIV: Old Gods

og1i.jpg

THE SETTING

Old habits and John McClane might die hard but they are nothing compared to the Old Gods. And although most old gods fell out of fashion when the monotheistic religions rose they never died and they never surrended, instead they waited patiently and they plotted in secret to increase their power and their followers until such time they could again bask in the glory of open worship.

Some gods disguised better like Quetzalcoatl who managed to hide his virgin sacrifices in the guise of victims of his Mexican drug cartel or Afrodite who caused the Euro crisis to again have the Greeks worhip her in the form of female tourists on the beaches of Cyprus and Crete. Others like Odin and Thor ran their propaganda openly from their Stockholm office in the form of computer games.

But although the new religions are in decline they did not come to dominate the world by being meak and archangels have been known to imprison weaker gods and infiltrate the Old God parthenon.

Werewolf CXLVI - Hong Kong Hosted by Rendap, starts 7/4/13

Hong Kong - 2013

View attachment 84379

The Imperial Crown Colony - The Pride of Southern China.

Hong Kong have been called lots of things over the years. Specifically in the years up to the transfer of sovereignity from UK to China. The transfer was smooth and Hong Kong remains a Jewel. Plenty of western traders, business people and other workers. Business remains booming and everything seems quiet and as normal as prior to the transfer.

Yet is the Jewel so bright? And is everything as normal as it seems?

Or are there things going on behind the scenes?

Another Werewolf game was about to start and to the GM, everything seemed perfect. He had spammed some inboxes so he was expecting a strong roster, one that would surely guarantee a jolly good time of absurd banter, walls of text and murder for all.

But it was not the case. Along with the True Werewolf players about to trickle to the thread - some through their own activity, others thanks to the invite PMs - the gullible GM was expecting participants that weren't True Werewolf players at all: they were in fact People who keep getting invites yet never show up! The game start was getting close yet the trusting GM was still oblivious to the fact that the game wouldn't have enough players to be very successful. Turns out that the players would have to be proactive and weed out the no-shows themselves before they ruin it for everyone.

Fortunately, one of the players about to participate is a Werewolf Legend. Surely with his extensive experience and contacts he would recognize the True players...

Werewolf CXLVII: The Great Norse Reformation

bulbjerg.jpg

Mid Xth century, somewhere in the Jutland peninsula.

The heads of the most powerful Viking states gather for a special council. With them are their most trusted advisors still true to the Allfather. Many are concerned with the rapid Christianization of their realms. But some stay steadfast and strong and are determined to fight. And as the saying goes, you must fight fire with fire.

But their powerful neighbours desire no such thing as a centralized Norse religion. The Christians would rather uproot this tree before it spreads its seeds.

Will they succeed in stopping the Norse Reformation?

A Night in the Lonesome October: 1887

A full moon on October 31st means that the barriers between dimensions break down, and what is on the other side can see us, and may even try to open a gate into our world. Fortunately, this does not happen often. At those times, groups of people begin to gather around peculiar sites and work to either open or close the gates between worlds. Those that work to open them want to bring the horrors of the Old Gods back, led by Cthulhu and Nyarlathotep. Others gather to keep the gates closed. The closers are always led by a man named Jack, and he is the bearer of many curses. Most prominent is the curse of his knife blade. He also can determine who is on what side, usually with the help of his dog, Snuff. The closers have always won. But this time, in southern England, it could be different.

Werewolf CXLIX: Dwarves!

orr8.jpg

The werewolves came to the Western realms. And the Kingdom of man descended in chaos, the scattering villages became nothing more than souces of blood for the full moon hunts. But mankind grew sparse and wolfkind flourished and there was not enough blood. And the kingdom of the Hill dwarves fell, and the shires of the hobbits. And the wolves grew in numbers, and in lust for blood. So the Elves left the lands but the wolves were hungry still and even trolls were hunted (praise be to Gnorl!). And the wolves started dying from lack of blood and they came ever higher up in the mountains in search of pray. And the lower mines got infiltrated until in the end the Dwarven King ordered the sealing off of the deep mines and the King's hall from the world above, waiting for the werewolves to consume themselves.

And all was well for a while until yesterday when Johho the Dwarven King was found dead, axe in hand, at a breach in the entrance wall. You quickly blew up the whole tunnel, collapsing the roof but was the damage done and had something already slipped in and transformed some of you to weredwarves?
