hi bizon. do you have any plans to update AI files to account for new CWTT units? right now the AI has no build priority for the new units, and will not use them.

i am also wondering if there is a way to limit cold war military build up realistically. my last game went into the 1980's and france and germany both had like over 100 divisions.

Hi Bizon, thanks for the new version. Is 2.2.2 compatible with DanielShannon's version of CWTT ?

I didn't it, to be fair, but from my quick assessment, it should work. Especially, if you follow the standard procedure, i.e. install NWO on top of CWTT, not the other way round.

I can't seem to get the game to run. :(

Is there some error that you get?

hi bizon. do you have any plans to update AI files to account for new CWTT units? right now the AI has no build priority for the new units, and will not use them.

i am also wondering if there is a way to limit cold war military build up realistically. my last game went into the 1980's and france and germany both had like over 100 divisions.

Nope, don't have time to go deep into this, and I remember that someone tried to include those special units in AI and there was some weird problem with that. I'll have that in mind in the future, didn't want to take care of it too soon though because CWTT may include more and more brigades and this means I'd have to update AI continuously.

About 100-div France and Germany it's not that bad, at least those countries shouldn't be pushovers. Ideally, I would like to see DH mobilization-demobilization model fully implemented but I couldn't manage it. And there is one mechanism, called "army limits" that imposes an IC-based ceiling on the number of units so there is some countermeasure, even if simplistic.

First to say this is an awesome mod,
Been trying it out for a couple of days (with CWTT) and I'm running into some issues.
A) The Iran/Kurdistan events seems a bit buggered if the Soviets support the Kurds initially but then back off. In two test games it has resultet in Iran and Turkey declaring war against the Kurds, failing to annex the last province, signing a peace, then declaring war etc.
Even had AI Soviets eventually invade Turkey due to this.
B) Industry/Resources: I've modestly expanded the Soviet IC to mid/upper 400 (before modifiers), but AI USA is up over *800* IC by 1964.
Needless to say, there's something of a resource shortage (Metal, in my case) in the world.
Not really sure how to counter this.
C) The Soviets start with a load of 1942 infantry that do not appear to upgrade to later infantry models, is this by design and I should be disbanding those ASAP? Not even their attached brigades upgrade, until I remove them from their infantry.
D) Minor thing, but there seem to be a lack of officers after the 42 batch die off. Might be by design/lack of resources and time, but perhaps some sort of randomized batch for the big countries that lasts until ~2000ish would be an idea?
E) There are some SKIF icon bugs, probably the CWTT part, but the MiG-25 icon is wrong for example.

I really enjoy it otherwise, especially the alt-history events.

I had to mod out the -25/-25 IC and time cost for upgrades on the Soviets, as things were getting absurd (like not getting T-55s out until the 60ies). I still got a 2000 IC backlog of upgrades, but I guess this is a general issue with that slider balance for DH.

I'm curious how you aim to handle the event chains for a (eventual?) break-up of the warsaw pact/the Soviet Union. I have only skimmed parts of the thread, so maybe you've already posted your ideas for this?

Great to see new faces (avatars?) :) NWO2 has the premise of not touching WW2 as much as possible. It's true that actually China gets some attention (mainly, communist get the much-needed buff) but what you experience is IMO just DH Full imbalance. From what I recall, there were ideas to fix things in 1.04 but I can't vow for details.

About Cold War intricacies, you should mainly thank Limith who gave me most of ideas. It's nice that alternative NatChi events work - because like most alternative events, they weren't thoroughly tested. About Sino-Soviet split - I'll look at this, after all Chinese had a good deal of initiative behind snubbing Khrushchev and leading to the split.

Ok. I was operating under the impression that work on China would include the pre-invasion conflict war and with Japan as well. Relations between the Communists and Nationalists were quite tense even when the Japanese were raping the country. Would it be possible to use your Grand Campaign tool to mix NWO with one of the WW2 realism mods?

I've played a couple of games going into the Cold War period now and I've found the trouble. Playing as China, it is possible to form an alliance BEFORE Stalin dies, but afterwards (at least if Khrushchev takes power) it's impossible. Khrushchev was a stubborn ass and an idiot, but not that much. Everything else seemed ok. If I had one nitpicky problem, it was the choice of who would take over after Mao died. I liked that there were three options: ultra pragmatic Deng, a moderate, and an ultra Leftist, but the consequences of each choice were setup under the assumption that China was on it's own as it historically was. I was in an alliance with the USSR at the time, and that should have meant picking the moderate would have been the option with the least negative consequences, and then Deng as the next most "preferred".

I'm going to give playing as the USSR a shot now with the new version, but I'll go back to China and Nat China soonish.

If Italy keeps the Monarchy they should keep the old Kingdom of Italy flag and their name should be "Kingdom of Italy"

Israel never formed it remained British. Rhodes and the dodecanasse remained British. Eritrea never went to Ethiopia.

if Italy goes with Monarchy and is mroe tot he right maybe the possibility of keeping some its former colonies (libya Somalia etc) and even istria?

In 1945 scenario Yugoslavia should have stalinist policy. It should also be allied with USSR and Eastern bloc. Also old Yugoslavian generals mostly monarhists shoud be deleted for after war scenarios. Many of them were fascist collaborators during the war... There shoud be aded new partisan generals... Also Yugoslavian army has too much HQ and to many tank divisions. There should be more infantry divisions and lees HQ and armored...

Interesting suggestions, but I feel, (as well as the mod creator, probably) that Tito was closer to Marxism, or Leninism/ Left-Wing Radical according to the game, in his political ideology, and Tito also had several moments of defiance of Stalin and his policies. Stalin, in fact, actually tried many times to assassinate Tito.

Policy of Communist party of Yugoslavia until 1948 was Marxist-Leninist, same as policy of All-Union Communist Party(bolsheviks) until 1956 namely Stalinist. Yugoslavia after revolution and victory in People's Liberation War has been one of the most "ortodoxs" communist countrys in the world. Yugoslavia copied Stalinist policy of Five year plans and collectivization... Soviet military and industrial advissors and missions were sent all over Yugoslavia to help in socialist reconstruction of country...
