New player here. Thus far, this is fun, but I have a question that I'd appreciate some info on:

1) In DD, I started in the "1936 Scenario" as the USSR. Currently, it's now in late '43. I've spent this time amassing large forces on the western border with Germany, and have been developing technologies. Thing is, Germany has never attacked, yet. Barbarossa should have been about a year and a half ago. They did annex Poland, but the war with France and Great Britain hasn't happened. Also, the Japanese never bombed Pearl Harbor and began their conquest of the Pacific. (they have annexed some provinces of China, though) Does the game wait for ME to initiate the conflict?

(note: game levels are all set to "normal")

Thanks for the advice!

No, I don't think it's waiting for you. Things just played out this way, and in your next game it'll be different (one of the great things about HoI). But of course your allowed (perhaps even invited) to attack and make nazi-Germany's nightmares come true...

Germany wont initiate the war if you have far superior numbers.
And it will only initiate war if it has no active fronts.

It would seem that Poland was not invited into the Allies. Some of the Czechs events might not have triggered like they did historically.

If you want to guarantee an historical start to war, you can edit the events for all countries involved in the chain to make sure that war starts over Danzig. Otherwise you can get this type of boring game.
