I think that leader should have new traits for how good they are at handeling troops. This would make polish cavalary more effective then other. But their infantery doesnt gain a bonus to shock. There should be traits for infantery and artilery to.
These should not be instead of the normal but as a complment.

I like the idea...Assuming I'm thinking the same thing you are :D
Levels for infantry management, calvary managment, and artillery management...It would make a human nation more likely to focus more on the area in which his or her nation excelled historically.

I think this is represented by the generic "colonel" stats... for instance..Venetian armies are good at sieges...so they have a seige value.... other armies have other stats... but maybe it needs to be emphasized more

Polish cavalary were good therefor they gain more shock, but their infantery want better so they should not gain as much bonus as the cavalary

How about if you can also increase the standard values of your leaders? I think that if you spend enough on your leadership schools (or whatever you have in your nation), your leaders will be better. I also think that the standard leaders should have a little more variety. Not all (Russian, Prussian, Swedish, etc... ) leaders are the same.

I do believe that it could be cool to have certain generals have a positive impact on troops morals
Examples: Napoleon was loved by his men, so was Caesar in the past...

How about war academies? It could be a special structure and leaders can be upgraded there at a certain cost. Also war academies give you a bonus on naval/land/infrastructure tech tree.

Should be an expensive structure.

I'm also in favor of letting generals improve their skills during action. So a war academy can upgrade to +1/+1/+1 to a certain limit. The higher levels can only be achieved by hard action...

How about if troops trained in Capital provences start off better than troops raised in normal provences?

The best troops would be trained in special academies and what not, where as troops raised quickly in war time in outlying provences, conscripts, would be less experienced/well trained and thus would not perform as well.

Perhaps a regular army raised in a capital or a provence with a special academy would come with a 'leader' of somesort, where as a normal army would be as in the original EU, without a 'leader'.

Same for naval vessels.
It could also be historicly linked, say in England there were the royal shipyards in London, but Plymouth came to be known as the main naval base on English soil.

anyways just some ideas.

Has the final version been made yet?

logistics

Leaders should have a skill in logistics.
Leaders with high logistics are better att handling supply and suffer less from attrition, while low attrition leaders will suffer badly from attrition.

A few explorers should be given an extra high logistics value, for example Magellan, to actually give him a decent shot at sailing around the world.

However, he did not in RL. He died in the Philippians but some of his crew made it though.:D

the logistics category is a very good idea (and historical, too), There were a whole lot of generals, especially mercenary ones, whose main skill was recruiting and keeping happy large numbers of troops, while many conversely there were lots of great tacticians who couldn't manage their armies to save their lives... I think there should be a category for this with the effects being lower attrition and lower support costs (for good values). I would also sort of like to see a "charisma" value that would have an effect on moral, but that might make things too complicated and have too large an effect given the way EU does battles.
