I don't know what caused my son not to be legitimized by this event. I suspect it's because his mother is dead.

There's another rather strange bug (and, IMO, dumb event, although I suppose it's possible).

It's not a bug, he's had a child and therefore he's a cadet house of your family. If you look at your family tree you will notice he's a part of it, but after him they are no longer considered of your house.

CKII doesn't believe in Cadet Houses, if it did then Capet would not be the all-time top-scorer.
In any case, legitimising someone who will then not be your Dynasty can't be intended behaviour. If you have Primo enabled then that's the equivalent of giving the player a button marked "shoot yourself in the foot."
On the other hand, that's a nice event, wish it worked.
