Brand new to CK, love this type of game, got 1.05 version, playing and learning in anticipation of the new expansion pack.

Question: are there any portrait mods that make the faces not quite so cartoonish, and that make the women not so uniformly ugly? Some ugly I can take, but sheesh every woman has a nose like a ski-lift and is butt-ugly,

I tried the Grat portraits mod, but didn't see a huge difference.

Thanks! Still learning, right now in the "How do I do this?" and "How do I do that?" and "Why can they do that and I can't?" and "Oops - that was dumb!" mode!

No, there isn't one. Myros made a mod, where the face looked at you, instead of 'en profil' but that made them really ugly

The portraits are very difficult to mod and, apart from Gratianus' mod pack, almost all attempts to make new ones have led to quite horrific results.

Anyway, after you've played CK enough, you'll come round to loving the grotesque-ness of the portaits! To help you in this, there is the DNAmaker tool, which you can use to put together your own faces.
