I'm pretty new to TRP, so forgive me if my questions are at or near the "Where is Rommel" level of noobitude.
1. When a province's terrain is different from what it was in all previous versions of the game (back to HoI1 1.0, from what I can recall), was it changed in order to conform to a region's real topography, or were some of them changed for gameplay considerations? Are there really a lot of forests in Southern England that don't exist elsewhere? More forests in the southern Ukraine? The deserts now surrounding Astrakhan?
2. I suspect this question has come up a lot, but I checked the last few pages, soo....why were hills removed? Yes, I see the desert mountains, but...there are so few of them, and with few exceptions, they are tucked away in out-of-the-way places that almost never see important battles. They seem to be completely interchangeable with real mountains, and the new mountain (ex-hill) provinces are now everywhere. Galway? Really? The entire East Coast of Australia? That's a hefty attack penalty.
The abundance of still-intimidating mountains are what have gotten me thinking that the terrain modifications were done for gameplay purposes, not for the purposes of accurate cartography. I do love all the new forests (and such a lovely shade of green too), but...well, I guess I'm just a little curious what purpose they're serving given the other adjustments made.
