Relative nice session for Spain, we conquered Corfu from the Ottomans in a nice war and expanded our manpower significantly.
So far, Spain is unbeaten in a war, and I like to take a bath in the glory this brings.

But the glory times will soon be over.
My tech sucks. I am unable to trade and I can't keep up with the damn hypertecher at yonder island.

Well considering how massive Austria is with twice the manpower and twice the army, France did about as well as it could this session with her wars against Austria - one draw and one losing an undefensable provnice. It is clear that France can't fight Austria alone anymore.

If there were ever any evidence that my other thread about halving trade income is a dire neccessity...Then seeing England, Portugal and Sweden with a trade tech of 7-8 by 1670 surely takes the cake.

Lets put this in perspective. My income took a huge jump in the last 15 years culminating with a great event dip-slider wise and going back to catholic, but it was roughly on parity with your own in the first war. Furthermore, my manpower began as 160ish, but then a bunch of cities reach their pop coupled with HRE and a sudden drop in quality from an event, raised it significantly.

Beyond that, I told you at the start of our first war, all Austria wanted from France was to secure our current border and to not take anymore off you.

Then France went and seized Schwyz. A rediculous provocation, considering it was my vassal that had been broken. I had to retake that, which I did. And I did it by you keeping Turenne out of the fight while I massed all my armies on one front. Along with CRT and CRC. So it was hardly one sided. I had many advantages, two of which I don't anymore.

So France is hardly being bullied. Inasmuch as it continues to throw itself at Austria and get shook off with a grimace.

So basically, despite my intent to not take any provinces off you, and only reacting when you annexed my vassal (which it was for all intents and purposes), you are now professing the need for a gangbang? When I won owing to isolating Turenne, with both CRC and CRT? My income and manpower is about 33% higher then yours now, but you're acting like you're as helpless as Brandenburg.

Its even worse. When trade 9 is no longer ahead of time (around 1700 I believe) I will probably have it immediately because of the saved up ducats from the refineries.

Aweful aweful session.

My precious deflation was wiped out as well as 7000ish golds trying to keep out the invaders from Russia, I lost another Island to Fal, and one of my manu's burnt down, hence causing me to spend even more cash to replace the damn thing.

I hate you Fal

Well obviously France is not as helpless as Brandenburg, it could put up a stiff defence at least, whereas you could crush Brandenburg with your little finger. Just that it can no longer perform offensive operations on it's own against Austria.

As for Switzerland, it was French anyway before I let go of it, in return for getting Artois and FC, which in the end I had to fight over. So i saw no reason in not denying you Scwyz at least. Even if you taking it back was less painful for you than I hoped.

It was a good war for Artois. We had about a year of battles, and then I bowed out and let you have it in a gentlemanly manner. Which I think, was justified since I was supposed to get Schwyz and Bern edited to me after the session, but you decided to let them revolt instead. Though you claim you didn't hear me warn it would form an independent nation. ;)

Really, all our wars have been very honorable. It's just unfortunate that every province exchange I've ever suggested that would lessen tension ended in a war instead. It's not a great leap of insight to state that France's aggressive policy against Austria has not been her best course of action.

Good session for the United Provinces of the Netherlands. We considerably expanded our revenues both tradewise and productionwise. Far more importantly though, we built up a 300 warship strikeforce in order to secure our independence in these wartorn and troubled times. The dutch peacetime army was also increased and the fortifications in the Lowlands upgraded. At the same time we continued our benevolent policy of "Splendid Isolation", maintaining friendly and benign relations with all powers interested in a honourable coexistance with the Netherlands.

Hah, Austria declared their MP as 167. At the end of the session it grew to 225, lol. Spain has 180MP, France 130MP.

At the moment, we have 'coexistance'. Honorable 'coexistance' would be a TA so you stop clubbing my poor merchants over the head in exotic locales.

He should club your merchants. Its what all good trading nations do :D

The only thing I am content with is my manpower.

In NOIV I was a full naval Spain, but my head was clubbed in constantly by France and Austria in that game. And I lost a good amount of Italian provinces.
But in the end, Spain had the largest fleet and was about to dow England for a final struggle for supremacy. Sadly enough the campaign ended prematurely.

Then I talked with BiB about his Spain and he pointed out a land Spain was the best. Spain has then the manpower to withstand France and the Ottomans, and since her colonies are concentrated in one large area, a large standing colonial army would be enough.
And of course, there is a strait to Africa, a nice source of manpower.

So, I went land this campaign. But it doesn't feel good. My warships cost 79 ducats while the English cost less than half of that.
I am close to give up any investment in a navy and just concentrate on a fine land army, just because it feels so hopeless.
But what to do with it? Harass the poor Ottomans even more?

I didn`t notice Spain decided full land before. Well, on the place of Marlborough i`d take a Mexico. Sieging Caribbeans is easily, a lot of warscores.

FAL, fleet for NL and ENG costs 29 ducats, when they finish to go aris=0 and land=0

That's the thing, I don't see land Spain winning versus England alone.

But when I was naval Spain in NOIV everyone told me land was better, because of hostile France and Austria :D

It's just who your enemies are in game I think.

In that case, maybe you should've left Ireland alone ;)
