Now that the patch is out I can show some of my own work, just for an example. This is just something small. The sprites in these pictures arent 'working' ones. They dont have animations at all. Also the sprites are too big, but the pictures just demonstarte what can be done.
Anyway here is a picture which shows a Dornier Do-17 sprite.
This second picture shows a light panzer sprite.
Few tips:
I used GIMP to make the sprites. You can of course use whatever program you like. Though the windows paint doesnt really cut it.
A black and white photo is great starting point for a sprite. I noticed it's a bit difficult to get the palette right if you use color photo as a basis.
A great source for BW photos is in your GFX\Interface\models directory.
This is a link to Stony Road sprite tutorial, made by Sekinoss. I'd say everything in it can be applied to Hoi 2 sprites too, except now there are more unit types ofcourse.
