Following a weird in-game outcome, I noticed a new behaviour of the "secedeprovince" command - different from HOI1. Its seems that the command has no effect when it is applied to a province controlled by a third party, other than the country ceeding it or the country receiving it.

Example : I play as the Free French. I liberated southern France through Allied Italy (after they changed sides) and liberated northern France after my landing.

Actual state :
North : owned by Germany, controlled by France
South : owned by Germany, controlled by Italy (Allied)

State after "Liberation of France" event :
North : owned by France
South : owned by Germany, controlled by Italy (Allied)

State after annexion of Germany :
North : owned by France
South : owned by Italy (Allied) (...impossible to make them give it back)

Is this a wanted change in the secedeprovince commande ? In HOI1, southern France would have been seceded to Italy thus automatically to allied France, as far as I remember.

The trouble is that most liberation of Europe events seem to be coded according to the old behaviour of the command, not the new one. That leads to a map of Europe rather messed up after German defeat...

Can someone confirm this ? Is their a simple solution other than remoding most liberation events ?

EDIT : I am playing with unlocked Doomsday, latest patch (1.3 ?)

The end game events are somewhat messed up. Unless you stay pretty close with history (d-day and ussr puppets) then stuff might turn sour.

As the free french, i initiated all landings on the continent and the liberation of france took too long to fire, so i forced it. Though i did get the german surrender events. This was in hoi2.
