The end date is 1964 now? That means the world would be in the middle of the space race. Since you plan on releasing this at the end of March, I'm probably a few weeks too late, but is it possible for you to make appropriate events for the great powers (USA, USSR, Germany & Britain) that can fire (significant random element should be there for project duration and outcome) if the required technology has been researched (probably computers and rockets) and the nation is not at war with any of the other two power blocs? It could be a series of multiple choice events (mostly concerning the amount of resources funneled into the program and the speed at which the project should go forward; both would affect safety), and while the program was active, the affected nation would lose a fair amount of off-map IC/resources. Disasters would increase dissent, successful missions would do the opposite and also give some off-map victory points.

The whole space race can probably be simulated quite adequately within the Europa Universalis event system (considering that this is a wargame) and would not need any modification of hard-coded stuff. It would give late game players a little bit more to do other than attacking their ideological enemies through proxy wars. :)
That's actually an excellent idea! :D

I do think though that it would be worthwhile to do a poll on how many people have actually player the Doomsday scenerio more than twice :p
Or at least once :)

Anyway, new features are nice and fantasy scenario seems interesting. How much would it be? $10 as Revolutions or more? (or less :p) I'd pay extra $1 for extra modability. But you are probably keeping that for next HoI, aren't you? ;)

Though in Sweden (Which is where these gameproducers are located) nazi symbols aren't allowed to be shown in public as they are considered to be supporting violence and hatred towards minorities (Which is illegal).

Something I think is a major reason why they decided to cut off the nazi symbols from the main version.

Yes, being in such a country also has an impact in the case of Paradox. I am not ripping on Paradox here, but really the game industry in general. Up until about a decade ago all games that included Nazi Germany used real flags, etc. People had been making WWII games for 50 years before the computer game even existed and it was never an issue. Then all of a sudden games start praciticing censorship replacing things with made-up nonsense for no reason at all. It's just stupid. The Nazi flag is the Nazi flag. The Nazi's existed. They were evil. We crushed them. Anyone who can't handle seeing their flag is too weak to survive, in my opinion, and we should allow natural selection to deal with those people as it will:)

The worst thing is you are even forbidden to post a link to a mod with nazi flag in the forums. And there is a Croatian Ustaša flag in the game.It is not fully forbidden to show nazi symbols in Croatia, though, and the Ustaša flag is even available as an avatar on the forum.

I asked twice as prolly a lot of wise people would say that they loaded the game once :p - which really doesnt count. Frankly from the people I have talked to in our mp groups and on vnet nobody seems to have played the scenario at all. If nobody plays it - it would be a better investment of time to do and test enchancements.
DD added a lot of them that didnt work. Like I dont know if the statistics screens have been used a lot. Apart from the fact IIRC they dont work correctly (they display wrong values when it comes to mp reinforcement needs) they dont show such usefull information as one would like. I cant see anybody using them in any of the AAR;s... I know it would prolly be crazy to ask players what they would like to see as there would be so many ideas that are too tough to implement - but maybe get more feedback based on: we want to do this and this - wadda u think? I play the game min 8 hrs per week since the day it came out and its so frustrating to see such errors and things that can make the game easier to work with..

The Soviet Union's flag is perfectly acceptable, so why's not the Confederate one?

But I'm straying off-topic, so I'll stop there. :eek:o

I do not say it is not, only that it may be a pc problem. to some the flag (again, not the national flag as most people who have a problem with the CSA battle flag do not recognize the national flag) is representative of slavery and racism.

Yor are using wrong example.
There is no Ustasha flag in game becouse Ustasha movement used historical(1300 years old) Croatian amblem(ches table with red and white squers, origins are from ancient Persia). This amblem was in oficial use from the times of Croatian King Tomislav in 10-th century and is allso with slight changes on modern Croatian flag.It is unique and original distinctive amblem of Croatian nation from the dawn of its formation in 8-th century.
Nazi svastika never before was a part of any German historiacal amblem or flag, and therefore is distincive mark of one dark period of homicide regime.

Why are we even talking about it? Who cares? Its already in the game. Don't like it? Mod it.

CSA flag is just as bad as the Soviet Union flag. Soviet Union flag represents atleast 10 million killed by Stalin alone, alocholism, state purges of educated Ukrainians, destruction of ethnocentric nationalism in Ukrainians, Azerbaijis, Georgians, Estonians, etc etc.

What about slavery? Didn't Tsarist Russia have slavery [serfism] right to the end of the 19th century?

Well, the SU flag was the flag of SU after and before Stalin came to power.

Well I didnt noticed this in Game, maybee it is to small flag.
Ah,well this is a minor state anyway. If you ask Escimo what means this "U" he will not know. But if you show him svastika he will know.
Insisiting on such details will open other changes allso beouse you have Nedich Serbia and amblem under which Czetniks were made many atrocities across Balcans, and some other minor homocide groups and their flags to remove.
So I like as it is.Center of evil is German Nacizm, and its amblem.Who knows about this "U".Maybee Croats, and their antipodes,Serbs.

The swastika was actually used by many cultures. Not sure if Christianity was one of them.

But anyway, I've a naval attachment suggestion: Crew! It'd affect most stats, albeit in small percentages, depending on the level, from 2% to 6%, for instance. You'd have Hardened, Experienced and finally Crack Crew (Regular crew's the one ships would have by default when they don't have this type of attachment on). Each of these would be noticeably more expensive than the previous one, but the older 'models' wouldn't be obsoleted by the new ones, which would allow for various degrees of experience throughout a navy (i.e. not all would have Crack Crews, usually).

The already existing experience system would add to this bonus but, granted, that doesn't click that much... Perhaps, instead, these attachments would add experience to the vessel.
