The developer's diary has 2 piccies, one of them covers persia/horn of africa to china/indonesia and southern parts of siberia. Gen.Schuerman posted both of them earlier in this thread. A nation resembling Nat.China (flag and everything) definitely is in there ... the existence of Japan (PRRS) is deduced, but there's a bright yellow blob in one of the screenies to the east of china
I see it now. Hmm...

ROC, unfortunately, seems rather incompetent... It doesn't control Manchuria or Taiwan. Of course, depending on when the scenario went a-hist, maybe the Ming never fell and Manchu stayed as a nation until conquered by Japan (PRRS?) and consequently there was never a need for the Ming remnant to conquer Taiwan. Tannu Tuva is the same color as ROC... why can't China have the same old brilliant golden hue it had in Vicky and HOI2??? I fear ROC would be the first target for Tannu Tuva players... Russia (or Siberia, or whatever) likely has its IC and resources spread out, and conquering ROC would make the most strategic sense...

Very interesting.

So let us think:basically we know that British Empire fell apart, Republic of India was formed, there is probability of socialists Japan, there are three big monarchies on European Continent, Prussia owns former Polish provinces of Russian Empire(Bialystok).
So perhaps a different WWI in which Germany had more success then in real life ? Leading to troubles in Britain that ended in revolution at home and splintering of colonies ? During the chaos Australia absorbed other former British possesions forming Australasia and revolution occured also at France and Spain but conservative forces won the struggle(perhaps with German help) and formed a monarchic union, this would also explain Indochina that we see. Russia was saved from communism because of earlier German victory(no need for sending Lenin) and Prussian conservatives wouldn't either like or allow socialist creation near their border, intervening on behalf of monarchy(weakened Russian Empire explains why there are provinces in German and Swedish hands).
The postwar economic crisis combined with activity of socialists led to civil war in USA and fragmentation into a socialist state (USNA) and conservative factions opposing socialism (Confederates)
At least these are my predictions. Of course it could also be instant war scenario so provinces in German hands and Swedish hands could represent the war situation.
But I would prefer a bit of time for development when starting the scenario.

I don't think this Armageddon scenario is such a good idea with game AI as it is. HOI2 AI doesn't have strategical component whatsoever. It needs some props like AI-files to function. Without AI-files that "AI" has intellect of a colony of insects. But the AI files work only if the game situation is not far from historical/predicted. In Armageddon scenario game situations will be totally unpredictable, so AI will be unable to do anything reasonable. That will make SP game not playable, of course. Even MP games with number of human players less than 6 will be quite boring, IMHO.

In the devdiary it is written that one of the scenarios will have alliances and war already stated, and that the other one will leave time more development.

Still, worth a try IMO, its nice to try something different where everyone is equally strong... why not?

Moreso than all of this bickering over the fantasy scenario, I'd like to see larger resolution support. 1680x1050 would be perfect, anything larger would be an improvement.

Ugh, doesn't seem promsing. Nothing about using some historical chances and alternative outcomes but pure abstract ideas not connected to historical realities. I hope they don't make the same mistake as EUIII and create bizarro-word with those scenarios.

There is no bizarro-world in the EU3 at the beginning,it is created during the game. This scenario starts already with the bizarro-world.

That would be nice IF the game had AI that could estimate the situation and operate strategically reasonably. But since the game has not such AI... :(
There will be 18 countries in the scenario. If I want to play MP game with a friend, there will be also 16 dummies. Very exciting!
The more human player in the game, the harder to organize such game, so in most cases the dummies would have overwhelming majority.

"This scenario starts already with the bizarro-world."
Well we can still hope it will be based on plausible historical outcomes.
Socialist revolution in West Europe at the beginning of XX century is somewhat plausible.
