Jan '39 - Apr '40
With the peaceful demise of Austria and Czecholsavakia out of the road, Hitlers attention turned towards Poland and on Aug 30 1939 when some sneaky Polish troops attacked a radar facility belonging to Germany in the wee hours of the morning, German forces were given the green light to retaliate with extreme force.
British commanders were heard cursing some weeks earlier as Guderian and Manstein landed in Elbing with a vast Aray of weaponry including the elite German Marine and Mountain corps and of course the Panzer wagons. Having allied to the British earlier in the year the Polish Government with no self respect fled the Front lines in fear of complete annihalationsome days before there heinous sabotage.
German forces easily swept aside all forms of Polish resistance with the vast majority of defenders pinning themselves down in warsaw. The spirit of the Defenders was a sight to see, as it splatterd over the city walls and streets. The city being completely surrounded was given a matter of days to survive however the staunchness of there resistance forced the Fuhrer to deliver more Tactical Bombers to the Region. Before the End of September Polish forces were overun and there was little there British Allies could do as German Airborne Commandos prooved there worth in the second and final Assault on Warsaw.
Forces left the region as quickly as they had arrived. With 4 Armour Columns grouping up to subdue and capture the Cities of once Stong Yugoslavia. Hitler ordered that the Port of Pogoloda (or whatever its called lol) was to be secured immediately, with plans to install massive concrete pens for Hitlers new prized weapon the U-Boat.
With the demise of Poland and Yugoslavia over, Germany turned to quickly remove the Danish King from power, with Hitlers very own Cavalry regiment reported as being the unit in question to recieve the ultimate surrender from the Danish King.
Germany Infanteers quickly rushed ashore on Iceland, with looming fear that the Royal Navy would soon be stalking there presence. After coming ashore, FM Model relised that the RN was nowhere to be seen, Goering confirmed this later when his Bomber crews found nothing in the Northern Seas. The RAF flew a few sorties in the Region but were quickly grounded when realizing the Airfeilds on Iceland had been Upgraded and Repaired from the sabotage of Angry icelandians upon the German landings.
With no RN insight Iceland was reinforced in a futher 2 Waves, and as requested FM Model was deliverd an Armour'd regiment to ensure no Allied reprisals in the region.
Winter Broke over Belgium in March and the Wehrmacht was put to the test again. In a giant central spearhead German forces quickly arrived at the Gates of Paris but were unable to take the City until German Marines could arrive and help force the City into Surrender. German Armour broke through and taunts from the Allies were intercepted as they proclaimed to be providing support from the Red Berets. No Parachutes were found and hitler summised that the British were lying through there teeth in regard to having an elite parachute regiment. Hitlers dares the Allies to test such Units in combat, the Fallschirmjaeger who made there debut in Warsaw are waiting.
Donitz was awarded 6 Brand new Submarines after 4 were sent to the bottom South of Azores. Hitler has asked Donitz to not let such mistakes happen again, but was impressed with the loss of Allied Merchant ships and Royal Navy elements in these Engagements. Donitz has assured Hitler that soon the mighty Kriegsmarine would be ready for the task of Defending Axis Subs in the atlantic in what will become an ambitious plan to bring Britania and her subjects to there collective knees.
German troops still pushing North into Norway, Dietel and Student have assured the Fuhrer the knock blow has been dealt and they only await fresh supplies and fuel to finish the job.
German-Russian relations have never been better, and the Fuhrer wishes that Winston could have taken a note from Uncle Joes big book of kindliness. Having split Poland with the USSR, the Fuhrer placed an order for 1000 of the USSR's finest bottles of Vodka which the Commitern provided for free. (USSR offered 5K supps to assist with the timely demise of Warsaw, the Fuhrer assured Stalin that such incentives were not neccesary.
With NAP's over Sweden and Turkey with the USSR, Germany now sits preparing there next target for Invasion. Sealion? Spain? Italy?
Time will tell.
(A bumpy start to the session but we got well under way, hope you can be there next week again Acid, 1800CET, 3AM Aussie Time...)
