Does anyone know is it is possible to create or modify provinces or regions? For example: AREA_SAVOIE;Savoie;;;;;;;;;;x to AREA_KLEIN_BURGUND;Klein Burgund;;;;;;;;;;x

I would like to rename some of the states and reorganize some of the others, especially in colonial Africa.

Any insights would be appreciated!

Start by opening Victoria\config\world_names

Scroll down to line 809, AREA_SAVOIE;Savoie;;;;;;;;;;x

Change this line to read:

AREA_SAVOIE;Klein Burgund;;;;;;;;;;x

The namespace AREA_SAVOIE is for the computer. It is hard coded into the program--you can't change it. However, if it was called AREA_X, it could still be used to refer to info about Savoie, Klein Burgund, or Walmart--it's whatever the modder chooses. You just need to know that the computer stores data for this place you--the human--calls Klein Burgund.
