Go and vote for Rome!! We NEED that expansion!
On the other hand, I don't agree with the scope of the expansion suggested. I'm not interested in Alexander, but in going deeper and better in what we have (expanded map is wellcomed, though). There are many threads in this forum with suggestion for new features. IMHO, the game scope doesn't need to be expanded, but perfected with more unique features and unique treatment of things that differenciates it more from other Pdox titles. The timeframe depicted is indeed unique and different in almost everything from the middle ages or the renaissance. And ofc, taking the character system to its full potential is of capital importance.

Aye, there is a vast resource of ideas within this forum for the developers to use and of course new game mechanics beyond simply expanding the timeline to Alexander and revising the map will be implemented.
I ask everyone who reads this to go and vote for Rome and make a post for the expansion, we have waited and thought of a second expansion for over a year and we have a chance to directly voice our opinions on this.

I voted for Rome and everybody has to do, because it's the game which deserves the next expansion. HOI3 wil get its expansion soon. EU3 had before. Vicky2 isn't released yet. So Rome is the only possible choice. Btw: There are so many points which could be improved and enhanced with a second Rome expansion.

I've voted for Rome and given my views on the choices. No disrespect to Paradox, but I find it quite insulting to the Rome fans that EU3, HOI3 and Victoria 2 are being considered for an expansion.
EU3 - Last expansion was two months ago and already has three expansions to it's name! I understand EU3 is probably Paradox's most valuable asset, but does it really need so much attention?

Rome is the option I play the least (counting Vicky 1 instead of 2), which is partly why I've voted for it. It has lots of potential, it just really needs some love.

And EU3 already has 3 expansions - much as I'd love to see a rest of the world expansion, I think they're better off doing CK2 followed by a new generation engine. So the choice was easy.

This poll is only about what WE want. And the result for Rome is close to the votes for EU3. I really hope Doomdark wants to do an expansion for Rome. If he wants and if his voice is strong enough we will get this expansion regardless if EU3 has 20 or 30 votes more.
On the other hand I am not sure about the financial aspect. I think PI could earn a little bit more money with an additional EU3 expansion. But I hope I am wrong.
Whatever... The rome faction is the more enthusiastic one. Quality will win over Quantity... I hope...
Rome simply deserves this f****** expansion. Sorry, but this is a very emotional vote for me.
That's depressing... I can't believe that Rome is going to be put aside yet again.

Absolutely! We may be a small fanbase, but we've all shown how rabid we are when it comes to expansions!
We have the enthusiasm and we have the ideas needed to help Paradox make an expansion truely for the fans! Let's make this happen! Roma invicta! 
I'm more intrigued about what an Alexander-era expansion would entail rather than the actual content itself. A well-done Alexander expansion would mean:

- Expanded map, obviously. To India, though I doubt all of the subcontinent would be included.
- Warfare revamp. In the current game, there's no way the AI would actually be able to re-create an Alexander-esque level of conquest. Macedonia would declare war on Persia, and maybe even win a few games; but the vast manpower reserves of Persia would ultimately encourage the Persian AI to continually demand tribute or, once they start losing, offer white peace - and an AI Macedonia would accept. As we know, Dareios offered Alexander several peace deals, including ceding a huge portion of the empire - which Alexander rejected. In the current game, there's no way the AI would manage to do that. Not to mention that Alexander annexed Persia in a single war...
- Possibly a unit revamp? Not as necessary as everything else, but it'd be interesting to see how Phillip's military reforms are represented.
- Diplomacy revamp. The Diadochoi period immediately after Alexander is so full of insane shifts in diplomacy and country borders which currently can't be represented without huge event scripting methods, which I'm sure Paradox wants to avoid. It may also entail marriage between countries?
- Alexander formed alliances with the barbaroi immediately north of Macedonia which helped him secure his northern frontier - I wonder how this would be represented?

I'm glad to see an Alexander expansion but, like you say, Cheexsta, I don't want to see a Alexander Total War-esque expansion. I also want to see new features and gameplay (as has been extensively discussed here) that effect every nation on the map and not just Greek / Persian factions.
This could be the turning point for EU Rome that draws in more players and support. This could be Rome's magnum opus!
