once fleets get to about 100k in strength game fps drops from 60 to like 2, this is the case even if i cheat the game and make a single ship 100k strong, i tried everything to fix this, i know its not my machine because i play way more taxing games like elite dangerous on high just fine , and i also play more taxing games on my iphone -_-, still i tried going into the console and screwing with the gui and turned down the graphics and still no change .

i really like the game , i really hope its something i can fix and not the game itself, i seen youtube videos with fleets up to 600k in unmoded gameplay running fine,

A lot of the savvy people here say it's because of the engine, a lot of others say that's bs. I notice that too, but at least the late game stuttering has been resolved.

There's not really any known fixes. Probably a good CPU will prevent the lag before 150k fleet strength. I'm not knowledgeable though.

The OP is correct that the game has only moderate graphic intensity; however, it has one of the highest CPU intensities of any game. Those blaming the engine are partially correct as it has little in the way of multithreading/multicore capability. Most of this is due to limitations related, I imagine, to thread synchronization. A new engine may not solve this issue. Lastly, 64 vs 32 bit game has very little bearing on a cpu limited game.

Unfortunately, the only way to really boost late game performance is to get a better cpu. You could also try to turn down those graphics features that are cpu intensive but that will have less of an effect.

AMD should be testing Raisin on Stellaris.

The one true benchmark for IPC.
