I, as I stated in an earlier post, have only been playing Victoria: Revolutions for about a week, and like it alot. The whole concept of playing a nation through the 19th and early 20th centuries is very addictive.

I've always prided myself on being fairly good at figuring out games, but after getting pretty good at EUIII, I think I've bitten of more than I can chew. The economic system of this game, with regards expecially to POPS and the World Market is...complicated to say the least.

Any helpful advice would be much, much appreciated.

You could start by checking wiki (link in sig). It has plenty of useful advice even though its' obsolete on some parts. See especially those parts that talk about Revolutions.

But as a general advice do not try to achieve everything immediately. Industrialisation and other good things will come and getting too impatient about it can and will wreck your economy.

Thank You so much for your advice, as it helped tremendously in my game.

Just one more question: Why is it that when I try to train a division, it says that I don't have quality, home province, and culture? Does this have something to do with the Liberal Revolution, my Populations high pacifism, or my low number of soldier POPS?

Thank YOu, now for logical next question: How do I get more :p

if you have a pacifist government, declare war on some unciv minor without any thing protecting it, then convert some soldiers or conquer them to take advantage of the soldier POPs the convert while at war with you.
Same for anti- military

if you have pro-military or jingoist, you can convert them regularly from farmers or laborers

Thanks everybody for the help, now I have what will hopefully be my last question:

What does military score reflect, and how important is it? To help, I'll give a situational overview:

In my game as Bavaria I have, through a series of events, become the South German Federation. I am a satellite of Austria, however, and wish to change that. I have better military tech than Austria, but my military score is 18, while theirs is 42. How would this affect the outcome of a war?

Edit: One more question: How do I stop my armies always being "dissolved due to lack of supplies."

Military score reflects the overall military strength of a nation. To see how it is calculated, see this article.

AFAIK the "dissolved due to lack of supplies" means that they were either completely wiped out (all of the men in the division were killed) or they had no province to retreat to. Units can only retreat to provinces controlled by you or your ally, so if you order a unit to retreat from a province surrounded by enemy occupied provinces, you will lose the unit.

Thank you. That's what I suspected, but I wanted to be sure before waging more war and losing by whole army
