Also, I just bothered to actually look at the scenarios.

The '36, '38, '39, and '44 scenarios are the same.

But now we have a '40, two '41, a '42, and a '43!!!!!!

The national lines look strange in that screenshot of North Africa... There's a British division in Tobruk and Italian divisions in Ad Daffah without the red lines between countries changing.
Also the number of coastal provinces there hasn't changed much compared with HoI2, only one extra. A lot of new provinces inland though

In what language is the spelling 'Tubruq' btw?

This is because they have not seized the entire province. They only have 1 region of the province. In order to take control of the province, all regions must be conquered.

The interface is looking good. It cover's everything without being too big. EU3s interface annoys me, even with the res at 1680x1050. Although I'm a bit disappointed that there's no more country descriptions, they are good to kill time when waiting for players to join the game.

Norway and Sweden being slightly different shades of blue, hmm...

Nice surprise to see a 1942 start date...
There was some debate about this allready (from a previous screenshot), and i had my doubts that it would really be a start date cause we allready voted for a new starting date a few months ago and feb 1943 was that winner.


Very nice as well to have a dec 7 1941 starting point, mostly for the USA cause i had nightmares in HoI2 to get the USA to a historical situation (more or less) from a pre-war starting point like the 1940 or 1941 start, and if you started in 1944 there was hardly any fun to go for the USA.

However i do have 1 question in mind allready about dec 7 1941... at that time Germany did not declared war yet on the USA (think it was dec 11), so im expecting an event to solve this but that will be without doubt a very vital one, most of all when we speak of an AI Germany cause it can change allot right in the first week of the start if the German AI decides not to declare war.

The Italian bit in Yugoslavia is Zadar and the region around it, which Italy received in the Treaty of Rapallo and wasn't ceded to Yugoslavia until after WWII. It's nice to see that Paradox are finally able to model the Italian holdings in Dalmatia.

The varying difficulties brings up a whole new line of intrigue indeed . . . curious. You can definitly see the EU3 influence even though I never did get around to getting the expansion packs . . . /sigh

It seems you can leave some aspects to AI control and that the level of complexity is also selectable.

I'm sure the colour problems will be fixed - Austria/Yugoslavia, Latvia/Poland, etc. But what's concerning is still the look of the Lowlands.. Netherlands is 40,000 and Belgium 30,000 sq. kms, on the map it looks like Belgium is one-third the size! I realize there's been much discussion on the subject, but damned if it isn't going to bug me if the look of the map here sticks.

Yeah I hope they straighten out Belgium a bit. At least Bulgaria is much improved, although the border should be right on the Danube, at the moment the Danube is entirely inside Romania.
