As long as we don't have real dynamic diplomacy, I'd like to see the addition of these peace events to supplement the existing ones. If they wont make it in a patch someone could pick them up and mod them in.
Soviet Union sues for peace:
A. If Germany controls Moscow, Leningrad and Stalingrad
...before USA enters the war and Paris is not in Allied hands, the Soviets should offer a less-than-bitter peace along the lines of 1917 Brest-Litovsk Treaty. Might re-declare war later if not at war with USA and the war is going well for the Allies.
...after USA is at war with Germany and Paris is not in Allied hands, there should be a small chance, 1-2%, per week of Soviets suing for peace as above.
B. If Germany controls Moscow and either Leningrad or Stalingrad
...before USA enters the war and Paris is not in Allied hands, there should be a chance for a diplomatic White Peace or giving into German demands.
...after USA is at war with Germany, but Britain is either neutral of occupied, there should be a weekly chance that Soviets would sue for peace as in A.
...and if the USSR is at war with the Allies or Japan, the Soviets would sue for peace as in A.
Allies sue for peace:
C. If Axis controls Paris and Cairo
...before USA enters the war and Germany is not at war with USSR, the Allies would sue for peace under status quo with de-occupied France under Vichy. Britain might re-declare war later if Germany is at war with USA and USSR.
...before USA enters the war but Germany is at war with USSR, there would be a small weekly chance of the Allies suing for peace as above.
...after USA is at war with Germany, but Germany has made peace with USSR as above, Britain would sue for peace as above and a diplomatic White Peace would be possible with USA. Britain might re-declare war if USA controls either Paris or Rome, if Cairo is liberated from Axis control, or if USSR re-declares war.
D. If Germany has not occupied Czechoslovakia (post-Munich) or Poland and Germany controls Paris
...before Germany is at war with USA or USSR, the Allies would sue for White Peace with de-occupied France under Vichy. Britain might re-declare war later if Germany attacks any democratic countries or if USA is at war with Germany.
...after USA has entered the war but Germany has made peace with USSR, or if the Allies too are at war with USSR, there would be a chance the Allies would sue for peace as above. Diplomatic White Peace with USA possible.
These are obviously from an Axis perspective and assume a human player as Germany, and the conditions under which an AI Germany should accept any of the peace offers are open for discussion. Likewise the list may not include all relevant eventualities, so further suggestions are welcome.
The point of all this is to make the game more playable with more limited goals instead of the usual Conquer the World: Total War™ and to make different (diplomatic) approaches viable game strategies, as well as to provide more, but also realistic, ahistorical outcomes by simulating the dynamic of war and peace better.
