New Patch: Game does not work anymore

Seems like the new patch is causing more problems than intended...

I launched the game, and experienced severe lag in the start-up menu. I couldn't even delete any mods in the content manager menu.

I then went back and tried to change my LAUNCH OPTIONS, but after many different combinations, the game will not load at all anymore. It constantly freezes before I even see the Paradox logo.

Any reason why? Any workarounds?

Also, this keeps happening:

The paradox logo lags for so long, that it lingers on the menu page for like 20 seconds before fading away.
