Eh, I forgot to say one thing. My GMship will be characterised by a more respectful approach vs the players... as long they follow the rules that is. ;)

My main problem will no doubt be to observe all important messages people send to me as GM. Have patience folks! :)

2. I may make some new rules about penalties/rewards for being late/in time. What I distinctly dislike is bad disciplin regarding our precious gaming time. Like 1% inflation or deflation, depending on if we prefer the carrot or the whip method. A little late for this but nevertheless a good testing ground for such rules.

Carrot!

5. Especially comments referring to RP or what happened "historically" will be attacked as against the spirit of the game.

What?! But that's my favourite comment!

Can't you make an exception for me Daniel?

If they are not seriously meant they are of course OK, for all ;)

But any action made for any other reason than to improve their nation will be considered non-gamey which is a capital crime, the worst offence vs any serious gaming community that exists. (A 100 times as bad as e.g. excessive pausing, just to take an example out of nowhere... :p ) And it will be severly punished by the GM. It is normally perpretated only by representatives of the weaker sex who play merely to "have fun" as they usually say, without understanding that it is the dedicated effort to do your best that constitutes real excitement and thus fun.

I do hope we have no players lacking a substantial amount of testosterone. ;)

I expect he is not. Daniel A has presented this philosophy about play of the game since before he even entered the MP arena. Whatever his other faults may be, being obtuse or evasive isn't one of them. :)

No, I am trying to present my basic philospohy in a fun wrapping. And the statistical obeservation I am referring to is based upon my experience.

But if you feel aggravated, why not be GM you instead? I have no desire to be it. I am just offering my services since Hive asks me.

But some details are of course exaggerated. I will e.g. not punish anyone playing stupidly ;) , i.e. for something else than his nation's grandness.

In case you are interested to discuss any particular part of my post then please specify which one.

I don't believe that actions which do not have advancement as the primary motive to be necessarily stupid, because every player has his own motivation for playing, and if that motivation differs from your own, that does not make it any less important. Your suggestion that making your nation strong is the only reason for playing is a slippery slipe toward allowing exploits, and if this really is the philosophy that you promote, and the game goes down this path, then I may as well resign before the next session.

If on the other hand you are speaking completely in jest, than I will continue to play and have fun as I choose, in my own manner.

Note, I have no intention of being GM :) not being in the European time zone is one factor for this, also I consider most players of EU2 to be, in the strictest sense, uncontrollable

You always think others deserve this and that, but never agree that *you* yourself deserve anything, in spite of you grabbing 2-3 provinces or insane amounts of money in all your wars. Funny.

Point me please when in this game i jumped on easy victim for own gains ?

Hive said:
I only did this when all negotiations had failed. And believe me, I really did try. But funny that you should complain about dowing in a "secure" war... what about you abandoning Austria to fight alongside Nappy France against her? Was that not a secure victory?

Lol, mentioning you were second attacking side :)
Now compare - what was harder - beating you together with Austria or beating Austria together with you ? Prussia was too small for any 1 on 1 at first years of own lifes, it is perfectly known. Attacking Austria was harder, or you declining it ?

Hive, anyway you continue talking like "look at yourself, and feck off your eyes from me". That is not reply.

Hive said:
It was in no way a "secure" win. How the hell can you see it as a such? Even without the UK admiral, it wouldn't have been a certain victory. But even if it had been... so what? UK dowed me for several provs right after Denmark killed my entire navy - but noone complained about that... hypocracy at large.

Wasn`t that fake war ? It was very silence. Then it was very secure win for UK as well. I can`t judje deeper not knowing all relations between you. Last your 2 dowing are clear on my eyes.

Hive said:
No, I refuse to shut up. And I will keep claiming that people in EU2 (for the most part) only care about personal gains, and rarely about game balance (unlike nations actually did historically).

Did you ? By attacking Denmark for Holland and England for Amsterdam in clear secure way without fear to lose anything ?

Hive said:
There's no way the UK would have allowed Russia to eat more and more of Scandinavia historically, no would Austria or Prussia. And there's no way Portugal would have been allowed to grow this powerfull without being challenged at all, either.

And of course it is allowed historically France to own whole Holland, and eat before 1/3 of german lands of Brandenburg. Hive acts only for history and never for own gains.

Hive said:
And you aren't late to join in on such a feast either - but amusingly enough, you always blame your actions on others. "It's not my fault, this and that nation just really *deserved* to be jumped by me"...

Aha, so you blame me that i care to find good casus belle, and you can hardly catch me with pants down as person who dows just for being greedy or being sure in secure victory ?
Didn`t you notice that my wish when Denmark and you attacked UK was to balance the war, and i immedialy called to UK to invite me to fight you on land not letting your hordes go into UK, when their fleet is crashed ?
Didn`t you notice that i dowed Nappy when you occupy half of Austria ? Didn`t you notice that i changed my plans finding good cb when Austria got LT51 and we started to beat you very easily ? I could grab easily 3 german provinces from you in those war instead of 1 from you + 2 from Austria.
Didn`t you notice that that as Poland i fought you for Austria when you dowed them after their hard war with OE and they had maximum WE ?

Blame me for trying to keep the balance, for what you are watching for and blaming other people. You are typing like idealistic in forum and acting for own gains in the game. Well, i`d wish to interfere in more wars for keeping balance, but my abilities are limitted, and i don`t wish to create new enemies, like Fred did before.

Hive said:
You know what? If you believe that someone did something dishonourable, the correct response is not to do the same - but to show that you are better than that. ;)

how is that ? what had i do in the game then ? :)

Hive said:
Actually, I believe I did comment on UK-Portugal-Russia vs. Denmark being excessive in the first war. And I did keep PM Fred with offers of friendship. But yes, seeing as The Netherlands is the only area I'm currently interested in, I'd hate to lose all chances of obtaining it.

So did you act for own games and not for balance of the game ? Do you admit that ?

Anyone who doesn`t support Daniel as GM, should blame Hive, because it was his act ;)

In fact i don`t think that new GM is good idea, even more if Daniel going to change the philosophy of the game, which is not good because 1) it is almost end of the game 2) the new order :) (philosophy) can be not supported by several players and cause leaving the game. That is even if his philosophy perfectly fits the current situation, which seems to be out of control of wishes of GM.

If you didn`t understand, Hive, my pretension on you is because you clearly made in a row 2 dows for fast and secure victory, and you still have the conscience to loud the voice discussing the situation against you, while you were perfectly happy when the situation was for you.

I admit i seem to be wrong to remember about your GM title when told about your guilts, but your actions at forum and game were too different. My apologizes for that.

Art, I have no interest putting time and effort into a discussion if you believe you should be able to play the game with any aim you choose. Neither if you use the word "exploit" without defining it. Definitely not on a nice Summer's Saturday with the Sun shining from a blue sky. :)

Time for you to get a new GM Hive. I am no longer available as that.

i`m sorry, looks like i have the problem to take part tomorrow. I`d wish a lots to play, but ..

I have the exhibition this week, which makes me busy a lots with lack of sleep. And tomorrow the director schedule the restaurant event with all our partners, which i can hardly sabotage, being responsible for one of our partners, because i work in the company at the dimension of their equipment.

I doubt a lots i could have luck to get home earlier (this means before 21:30 local time, which the start of the session), so i`m looking for the sub. It is bad i inform you now, but i found out this only today. For the week i thought i could plan to refuce for after the exhibition partying for the game (it`s possible for once-twice per this week), but that seems to be failed.

I`m trying to watch for sub now..
