Indochina, IDC

Indochina is a region in Southeast Asia and a former French colony consisting of the states of Cochinchina, Annam, Tonkin, Laos, and Cambodia. First to enter the French domain was Cambodia, in 1863, as a protectorate, though Battambang and Siem Reap remained under Siamese control. Cochinchina came under French control in 1867, after Napoleon III, with the help of the Spanish, conquered Saigon and other areas of southern Vietnam from the Vietnamese monarchy in 1864, then returned to conquer the rest of Cochinchina in 1867, a colony being declared in 1874. Annam was seized in 1874. Tonkin was ceded to the French following the Sino-French War in 1885. Laos was taken over time between 1888 and 1893, and further gains, including Angkor, Siem Reap and Battambang provinces were made agains the Siamese in 1904 and 1907. During World War II, Vichy France gained control of French Indochina, and granted military access to the Japanese Empire, with Siam taking control of Cambodia and parts of Laos. A second campaign by the Japanese after the liberation of France led to direct control by the Japanese and the establishment of a short-lived client state in Vietnam. After the war, there was a relatively short interlude of French control before the First Indochina War was fought by the communist Việt Minh against France and local states aligned with France.

India, IND

India is an ancient land, steeped in history and populated by a very large diversity of groups. Modern India's history started in 1757, when the British East India Company won the battle of Plassey, establishing company rule over much of India. The company would expand to encompass all of the Indian subcontinent. The Company would rule India until 1858, when the British government passed the Government of India Act of 1858, removing the Company from power and placing India under direct administration. In 1878, India was placed under political union instead, as the Indian Empire or just India, with the monarch of the United Kingdom being Emperor of India, following a large revolt and a consequential reorganization of British rule in India. During World War I, the Indian Army and British Army in India would provide 1.4 million men over the course of the war. After the war, however, returning veterans and taxation-caused inflation would lead to riots in many Indian cities. 2 more Government of India Acts expanded the power of local authorities, and established a Congress. When World War II broke out, Lord Linlithgow declared war in the name of India, much to the consternation of Indian Congress members. In 1942, Gandhi, a leading figure in the Indian independence movement, lead the Quit India Movement, urging the British to withdraw from India or face mass civil disobedience. The movement petered out as the Japanese advanced across Burma, however. In 1943, Subhas Chandra Bose, who was ousted from the Congress, revived the Indian National Army, which was disbanded in December 1942 due to disagreements with the Japanese, and fought alongside the Japanese until the surrender. After the war, the British faced multiple mutinies in the RAF and the Royal Indian Navy. Sentiment for independence grew following the war, with civil unrest slowly changing from against the British to violence between Hindus and Muslims. In 1947, the British government announced it's intention to leave India no later than June 1948. In 1947, the Union of India and the Dominion of Pakistan were turned into commonwealth realms, and in 1950, India became the modern Republic of India.

This is it.

Indonesia, INO

Indonesia comprises an archipelago of islands in Southeast Asia. Before the 17th century, it was a set of independent island states, frequented by European traders and Arab traders before them looking to aquire the islands' spices. In 1602, the Dutch East India Company, which established itself as the dominant power in the area, which dissolved in 1800, after which the Dutch East Indies became a nationalized colony. The Dutch increased their control over the islands over the 19th century, and only controlled the current boundaries in the 20th century. The Japanese invaded Indonesia during World War II, and the whole archipelago was under Japanese occupation from 1942 through to the Japanese surrender in 1945. Japanese occupation proved brutal for many, as many civilians were taken away for forced labor, and those in resource-rich areas also suffered greatly but the Japanese, especially in Java and later Sumatra, actively encouraged Indonesian nationalism, dismantling Dutch colonial institutions, and giving local nationalist leaders a political voice. 2 days after the war, Sukarno, under pressure from more radical groups, declared independence for Indonesia. Over the next four years, the newly independent state would fight a struggle against the Dutch, who tried to maintain political control. The Dutch would recognize Indonesia's independence in 1949, due to international pressure, except West New Guinea, which would be tranferred to Indonesia in 1962, following further agreements and a UN mandated act.

Ansaldo should be 2 techteams, one focused on navy other focused on military equipment. And btw, they ended their airplaneproduction the 20's.. No need for aeronautics. Their land focused team should be good at tanks and artillery.

And they do deserve more than skill 5?

Edit: I've meant to ask this for a long time. Prussia, why do they have such an enourmous amount of cores? What is that based on?

The thing about Prussia is based on their cores in the Armgeddon and Abyss fantasy scenarios.

And since when does Italy need not one, but two great tech teams? :p Seriously, though, thanks for the input on that. Hopefully we can get a good picture and get this added in, so that Italy may have a chance in the tech race? They can beat France? :p

Israel, ISR

Israel is a country on the Mediterranean in the Levant. It is the ancient homeland of the Jewish people, who are believed to have inhabited the area since Biblical times, and the land itself is considered the holy ground of at least 3 major religions. A series of Hebrew kingdoms and states appeared in the 11th century BC, which ruled for the next 1,000 years, though foreign powers often held the region during this time, most prominently the Roman Empire and later the Caliphate. In 628 through 629, Roman Emperor Heraclius conducted a massacre and expulsion of Jews following revolts. The Jews who were expelled were sent away to Roman provinces in Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East, though a small population remained in Palestine. Throughout the ages, many Jews living in this diaspora held a desire to return to the Holy Land, and some did starting in the 12th century and increasing as Catholic persecution increased, especially after the Spanish expulsion in 1492, and again in 1881 as Eastern European Jews fled pogroms, starting modern Jewish immigration. The Ottomans had held Israel since 1516, and so, in 1917, at the height of World War I, foreign minister Arthur James Balfour made a declaration that the British Empire would support the creation of a Jewish state in Palestine, and many Zionists volunteered for the British army and joined the Jewish Legion, who helped conquer Palestine. After the war, in 1922, the League of Nations granted the United Kingdom a mandate in Palestine, and more Jews than ever before would flock to the British Mandate of Palestine, especially following the rise of Nazism. During the war, however, the British government heavily restricted Jewish immigration into Palestine. After the war in 1945, this would lead to a conflict in Israel. The British would leave Palestine in 1946, though it would still play a role in the region. However, Britain was split between helping the Jews now living in the area and helping the Palestinian Arabs. In 1948, one day before the expiration of the British Mandate in Palestine, Israel declared independence, which was soon followed by attacks by the neighboring Arab states, which Israel fended off. During the 1950s, the new state would be plagued by attacks by Palestinian militants. In 1956, Israel entered a secret alliance with Britain and France and launched an attack on Egypt aimed at freeing the Suez Canal, which Egypt had nationalized. Though the Sinai Peninsula was occupied, Israel withdrew due to Soviet and American pressure.

I have one question (It's probably been answered in here but I am busy and don't have time to look):

So is this like a mod like 1914 where I can still play the original version of the game and have a seperate folder for this mod that I access the mod through? I don't want to mess up my game.....

You can still play the original game.
The Mod offers new scenarios like "The Alternate World" or "New Nations" (more in the near future). If you want to play the original game just select any of the Vanilla scenarios and play, the only difference is that you can liberate more nations, the rest is the same as the Vanilla.

Does loading the mod prevent me from modding the game to make new countries(like U00-15) because I see that there are slots filled for U00-15 in the mod info...

Alternatively, is it possible to do what 1914 basically does (rename your orig doomsday folder, put in disk and perform repair, then rename the folders and unpack the mod so that you have installed two versions of the game that you play separately- the mod version and orig version)?

sorry for the questions but I want to make sure I can still create new countries in my game editor

No, by installing the Mod you cannot create new countries at least that you overrite the ones that the Mod offer
