Good to hear that Rappar, so nothing change. Still we are using hamachi and still we've got 9 players. Can anyone exactly explain me how "random leaders" works ? exept historical leaders we will get some extra leaders ? Explorers also ? Firstly its seems very nice but how long they will live (or it's random also) are we going to get more than one leader per session ? or it depends from some stuff, for example from victory points gained in session without leader ? let's say 100vp = general 200vp better general 170vp = explorer, etc ... ?

Will give you wich parameters we can use (assuming martmol uses this engine)

Stats for leaders are generated randomly within the set parameters, parameters for individual leader stats are the same for all countries, but the parameters for how many leaders (and type of leader) a country receives can be set individually.

The point with random leaders is to balance the game. When Sweden has Gustavus (6/6/5/1), the best historical leader I have is 3/3/3 (and he's only available for half the time gustavus is around). In 1760-1819 I'll have Blücher (5/5/5) and in 1740-80 Friedrich II (6/6/6/1). During that period the rest of my historical leaders are at least as good as the Swedish ones. Random leaders is there to make sure that a nation with überleaders can't totally crush countries with only standard ones.

Using VP, or any other method of influencing how many leaders a nation receives is hard. Should a peaceful trader/coloniser receive lots of leaders because they have gotten VP from monopolies, exploration and establishing colonies? If anything should influence amount of leaders it would be battles and wars, but I don't think we should try to implement any such system because we have already started.

IMO everyone should receive the same amount of leaders per session, perhaps with the opportunity to choose how many of each type (with certain limitations for explorers/conquestadors).

Dont be so dramatic. Portugal is far from being a threat to the Ottoman Empire, and it is pretty easy to defend at this stage of the game against invaders, specially against ones that are on the other side of europe.

Now i would like some explanations. I am very sorry for not having taken screenies, but the 40k men that i landed in Cyrenaica, or whatever that province is called, that marched to alexandria, got totaly smashed there by an army that didnt even exist. I selected my army, and it was fighting against 0 men. I dont want to acuse anyone, but this sounds fishy. Perhaps some kind of new bug? :mad:

As a last note, Wow told me that you couldn't join the game because of me... How can i be blamed for you not being able to join?

Martin, i said i was about to leave, but was not sure about that. I got windows ME, and just because everyone needs hamachi, i was forced to install windows XP. Now, i need windows ME for other things, and i will have to install it all over again... I dont like a bit to install windows ME/windows XP every Sunday, just to play 4 hours... Not to say that in these 4 hours we just advanced little more then 10 years, and that i could see everyone's armies, except Rappar's one.

But for the moment, i will keep playing... So dont get any silly idea of substituing me this early... :cool:

EDITED: actually, OE's inflation should be 0,9... it was stated in the stats that it had 1,9 inflation, but with the AAr reward, it will get lowered to 0,9.

Put ottos inflation to 0% I would say. Part of it is fixing the mistake, the other part is compensation.

What is the situation with the random leaders rule? Are we going to get any leaders for next session?

Also, Im not sure I think it would be exactly fair to me to let someone become Venice right now, especially one that could possibly be instant ally for OE. AI Venice isnt really that big of a threath when you have other more pressing things in mind, and if they grow in Italy I dont mind. But after that letting a player to get it, well, I would have never allowed human Venice to play in Italy like that without interruption.

What is the situation with Sweden, has anyone heard from Ineluki?

I think too that OEs inflation should be 0 at the start of next session, it was pretty bad handicap especially since they should have had 0.9% inflation instead of 9%.

If Ineluki doesn't show up next session, and we still haven't heard from him, I support giving Sweden to whoever wants it.

As far as I know we have three people at current interested in joining this game. Mioz, Selim and Rapek, I don't know anything about Rapek but the other two are reliable as far as my experience go. Unless we can find a better host than martmol/me we can't have more players though.

In my opinion also Rapek is reliable. We should think about to get eventual Sweden sub for next session, those first years are very improtant in future game so it can't be Aied and be offlimits. I saw your nick Bodvare in stats as a host, are you going to be a perm host ? have you discussed that with Martmol ? In last session game hosted by Martmol were moving preatty well but durning your hosting we avoided crashes if I remember good, In eventual hosting by you there will be also small minus, after session you will have to send saves for Martmol, and you will have to do all unexpected edits durning the session I know this is not big disadvantage but maybe it will help in making decision about your hosting.

I am not perm host as far as I know, I hosted because martmol crashed and was afk.
I can host if people wants me to, sending saves is not a problem for me, edits during session is something that only should be done in severe cases.
There where some problems with lag when I was hosting though, but we had that with martmol as well.

Darkdeath was talking about rigging up a server, don't know how that is developing, don't even know if it's possible.

For now I suggest that martmol continues as host with me as backup.

Edit: Selim said he would be around when we play, so if we don't hear anything from Ineluki close to session I will make sure he has the necesarry files and hamachi up and working just in case. Ineluki strikes me as the kind of player that shows up to the session and never seen again before he shows up for the next.

I really understand how you feel... Specially now that i am about to annex one or two italian countries... It would hurt me the most, having a Venice played by a human. But i think we cannot deny the right of someone entering the game. Even though i dont like it a bit. :cool:

Now, speaking about edits. Please, no edits during a session. This is really catastrophic like i said before, and as you could see, it caused 3 rehosts in a row to CTD, because the game was corrupted/bad edited. Edits, in a middle of a session, should only be made in extreme cases, and this wasnt the case.
