That's kind of the idea to give Argentina one year to own South America. Brazil has such defensive terrain and more IC that they would immediately stop the Argentinian advance there. We would like a small South American theater for the Allies to fight for. Argentina can't count much on Axis support, especially since the Axis failed to take Gibraltar. But could Brazil ally with the Axis / Argentina? That would be cool, althrough a bit unexpected...

But you will surely get Brazil at some point, if it joins the Axis or the Allies own South America.

Joining the Axis? Interesting, I recently began a new game. I'm freedom-ed myself to a Integralist governament in the beginning of the game, in part to get rid of Getulio "Not Left-Wing Radical" Vargas and his IC blackhole. I shifted Brazil to a Centralized Economy, a more hawkish policy, closed the society, turned the governament to Facist (but somewhat far away from National Socialist, as the Integralists were facists but they believed in the Unity of all races, only one of them was a racist) and gave them one more intervention point. Its 1942 and I already took Venezuela and Bolivia. As soon as I get a decent army all up and running, I'm going to join the Axis, take over the Guyana and british carribean islands, then DoW Argentina and run over them with my tanks. Then puppet Chile, take Colombia and Equador.

The idea of teaming up with Argentina and joining the Axis interests me. As long as Argentina agrees that Venezuela should be a Brazilian puppet, that is. I can share some oil for tanks and ships, in exchange for resources I don't have and for a good price. (Brazil is strangely metal-poor in HOI2, WTF?!)

Off-Topic: Puppets give me ALL their resources after their stocks reach 1000, right?

Brazil produced very little metal at that time (I think maybe this isn't true) and thats why its so low. The same is with America which produces a third of worlds oil at the time the game runs (Today they produce very little).

And I think Brazil and Argentina should join separate alliances (Except if they join the axis and launch a crusade against America), but otherwise it would be way cooler if they fought each other.

Argentina has been a lot under the AI, so much that it still has less IC than Brazil. If Beladriel would try to invade Slayer's Brazil in mountain and jungle terrain, I'm guessing it would be a stalemate. Argentina on the other hand is plains and has a lot of beaches, say for the British invading from the Falklands.

It might be a bit weird in Brazil - which has good relations with the US, to join the Axis, but it is the easiest option and would enable to make a little Fortress America.

Another option for Argentina would be to conquer Brazil and then give it a human player. But a lot of wait and a nothing much of an army left after the fighting, it would suck a lot.


I don't know anything about the metal production, but puppets do give over 1k stockpiles to their master.

If they join separare alliances its too easy for USA to conquere them.

Edit: So I recommend both Argentina and Brasil to join axis. (Argentine has also good relations with me, over +120, so it doesnt matter if Brasil has also)

Oh, and flag and pic modding is ok ofc, because ppl won't notice it. But changing the minister names for your country would be ok, right? Because looks like Chiang stays as the HoG for China, no matter where you go.
