Here is what I offer.

We talk to some experienced modders (Altaris, Cueball for example) and ask them to throw out some ideas about extending combat process. Or just copying the feature from WiF, TRP.

Well, I'd say you should do four things (from 1.3):

first in the misc.txt file:

Increase air stacks to 8

And then give SU a 30% peactime IC mod in the 36 scenario file.

Yes, that makes sense. Althrough I would think it would be cool to increase the xp gain a bit, I mean lower it, but still an amount that it's gained faster in longer combats. The Germans would benefit more from Poland when invading France and have a bigger advantage when invading the USSR. In return the peacetime modifier could be 25%. But just an idea. ;)

Wait, you mod this number? I have always modded the GDE in the save for the countries. The base is 0,8 so that means that only 20% of the hits get through, right? So it would be modded to 0,9. But I don't understand how 1,8 works? But anyway 2-4 times longer combats would be cool. The USSR GDE will be 0,8 when Barbarossa begins and will rise to 0,9 when GPW fires. It gave 0,1 GDE, right?

What about the stuka fleets? We only thought of using the penalty when ground attack is reduced or forbitten. But I doubt that the German player will agree, so the peacetime penalty should probably be reduced?


We should rather vote if we want to play with a modified version of vanilla, as if we wanted to use a mod.
The modifications that we want are pretty simple. So why use a mod, when we can just change a few text files. These can be easily uploaded, but they are easy for everyone to mod too.

I find the global modifier works just as well. You could play with it on some sims to see how it goes, say in a china war or such.

Ah yes, so it increases GDE for every nation, good. And it will increase the USSR base a bit, but it won't rise to the full until GPW? Ok, so it is in the misc file?

Yes, I forgot China. It would be cool to give China a slightly better chance at surviving, it isn't that good in Vanilla, I think. But I will have to test it first ofc...

Dunno, GDE increase buys them more time to hold off the Germans. But maybe it could be 5-10%, coz the Stukas are still the same.

YAY you failed with wif, told ya thay it sux in MP.... So next session you will start a new mod/vanila game? and you will pick other countreys or everyone will stay the same?
Well I think the modded Vanilla idea will pass through. At least with the GDE I hope. We could end the vote on Wednesday, so we can move on to the modding part.

I don't see any real reason to switch countries, because we only got till -37 in our game. I would like to test the new GDE with USSR, but just to be fair and it's kinda stupid to take USSR for the 4th time... I could offer it to somebody else. IF I get China. ;)

But I have to ask Hatuke what he thinks about that... But we would really like to have you back nazi. I'm not sure, but Delex might take Spain... but you don't want to take a 'doomed' country like Japan, eh? :D

Just pray that your soviet player doesn't ask anyone about Soviet super-zerg infantry strats that result in 500 division OBB for the SU in 1941, much of it 41infantry. You can do 600 but some people like to have MP over for reinforcements.:D
