Yeah, I'm not planning on missing this wednesday too . I've downloaded the event-file and tried running it in SP. It works but I'm not sure this is a guarantee it does so in MP as well.

Though, I have not received any ICQ messages. I'll repost my # just in case... or better yet put it in my sig.

I did read the rules, but I didn't know bidding was already underway, let alone if anyone else already bidded on brabant. And about the time , I read that the time wasn't certain, but the rules specified it at thursday.

I did read it all, but the time was debated after and I didn't know bidding started yet.

0 % inflation on brabant, and if its thursday, I'm in.

It is meaningless to bid until we know how many players there are. If there are less than 12 we will take away some nations, perhaps Brabant

But it is good to know you have read the rules. I will this upgrade you!

The rules are very interesting, I only fear that imbalance in abilities (wich is mentioned in the rules) will still very much influence the game. Abilities being player neightbours (lots or only a few, even 1.) & Sea/colonization acces.

But it would be interesting to see how that works out, it does require quite some work from the GM, so cheers in advance and good luck trying to steer this one in the right direction!

EDIT: Who is going to be the Host? Also, is roleplay 100 % forbidden? since you are allowed and even pushed to write AAR's of quite a volume.

As it says in post 1 I will be host. And of course role play (in the sense of not doing his best to enhance his nation) is forbidden. As it goes against the aim of the game.

In your AAR you can of course RP as much as you want

Anyone caught RPing in the game will immediately be disqualified and taken out of the game. He will also be crucified on the forum as a game destroyer.

What is roleplay as you see it? Define it, make examples of such play if you really want to ban people from your game for that. It is not a stabhit rule. It is much more complex and ORIGINAL rule.

UPD:
You can roleplay by saying "Sultan of Ottomans demands you to cede provinces of Hungary!" instead of "I want Hungary". Will you ban for this?

I always though that you play to have fun. I am not saying that you should not try to win, but the game is always for fun, and it should be fun for everyone, not just the winner.

Yes, that was obvious, because game is ahistorical because provinces are equalled.



I still don't understand why roleplaying is illegal here. I can say that staying loyal to your ally because he helped you in previous war, even if you will lose the new war with this ally - IS roleplaying. Is this forbidden too?

We will not have rules we have no possibility at all to check whether they are adhereed to or not. Such rules benefit those with low moral that allow themselves to break the rules and hurts the honest people. It is a no-no with such rules. Instead, if the host wants to keep his log secret he should delete it before he "rehosts for save". He can keep it for himself for future reference if he wants to. I consider the inclusion of such a rule as a clear error on part of the GM.

Very correct, Daniel.

But don`t forget that painful operation of manual log cutting should be done before each rehost then. At the other hand, instead you get some risk of host ability to edit something else for own purpose.
