I am ill and need to go to the doctor this evening. So I will probably late by half an hour or so.
There is none who want to sub me for this short time, so I will do my best and come as early as it will be possible.

sorry

Sorry to hear HAL. If it is only half an hour we could perhaps postpone the start. No problems for me.

I hope you are getting well. Take care. :)

By mistake I posted there following request in the AAR thread

May I ask for an edit: it appears Mali and Songhai is in an everlasting war because Mali occupies one of Songhai's three provinces and Songhai cannot reach it. If that is done, remember to shift control of this province, it is very easy to see which one it is since each natioon only owns 2-3 provinces.

This is the entry in the save that describes the war

war = {
id = { type = 4712 id = 2348471 }
date = { year = 1480 month = october day = 17 }
enddate = { year = 1630 month = august day = 17 }
defenderscore = { SON = { MAL = 13 } }
attackerscore = { MAL = { SON = 6 } }
attackers = {
id = { type = 4712 id = 2348469 }
type = war
startdate = { year = 1480 month = october day = 17 }
expirydate = { year = 0 month = january day = 0 }
participant = { MAL }
}
defenders = {
id = { type = 4712 id = 2348470 }
type = war
startdate = { year = 1480 month = october day = 17 }
expirydate = { year = 0 month = january day = 0 }
participant = { SON }
}
}

As can be seen they have been i war since 1480.

--------

Four things need to be done to accomplish this.

1. Delete the war entry (see above)

2. For Mali (search for Jenne in save file) these provinces are controlled.

ownedprovinces = { 1487 1489 }
controlledprovinces = { 1487 1490 1489 }

The Control of province 1490 should be deleted

3. and transferred to Songhai (search for Gao in the save file).

4. At the bottom a combat entry (because a Mali army is present in province 1490, no actual combat is taking place) needs to be deleted

combat = {
id = { type = 4712 id = 4327818 }
type = cover
province = 1490
date = { year = 0 month = january day = 0 }
morale = { 2.125 2.313 }
attackers = { { type = 4712 id = 4302393 } }
fortress = { inf = 5000 cav = 0 art = 0 }
siege_p = 0
siege_d = 0.000
siege_breaches = 0
}

I would very much appreciate if this could be done. I have tested these edits and it works fine.

Why should the war be edited? and why edit prov changes when we can just edit the war away :confused:

Because it is caused by the "never-ending war" bug. They cannot go to pece and will be in war eternally if we do not do anything about. Songhai owns province 1490 and it is adjacent to Mali who has captured it. However Songhai has no land connection to that province and thus cannot retake it. Mali typcially demands the province again and again but their war score is too small for Songhai to accept it. Thus the war never ends and that is the bug.

If you just edit away the war Mali will still control province 1490. I believe the game will crash if that is the case. You could of course give Mali the province but that would need you to transfer the city info as well as editing the "owned provinces" item. Now you just need to edit the "controlled provinces" entry.

Sometimes it works to load up the save as Songhai and offer Mali the province and then save providing they accept. However, I would hesitate to do that because of potential problems, you must e.g. remember to pause immediately not letting any nation do anything.

Before I will forget...

Is there is any chance to edit my stability costs? Before taking Bangkok I had 6000k, when I toke that province, it rised to 9000k. But when I sold this COT to Austria stab costs didn't lowered to previous 6000k level. Even "Great reputation (-1bad boy)" and a lot of conversions didn't help. I have no idea what happened.

Maybe you know some way to count stability costs? Some formula? For example 'number of diffrent religion/cultures provinces x some factor?

HAL,

As a christian you pay 25d for each city province with the state religion, 50 for other Christian and 100 for non-christian. Since you are protestant IIRC, you have to add a further 3d per province. Also 5d per colony and 2d per TP.

Add all and you have your base stability cost.

Now multiply because of DP sliders (Serfdom and Innovative).

Then multiply because of BB. That was the one I suggested ingame was the reason your stab cost suddently increased. The formula is quite complex but basically you should try to never go above 50% of your BB cap.

Then mulitply because of vassals and FAA's.

Then mulitply with inflation.

--------

Whenever your stab costs suddenly increases with a lot it is because

1. You suddenly acquired a large number of provinces, relative your number of provinces before, especially if they are of a very wrong religion

and/or

2. Your BB points just went over either 50% of BB point cap or reached 100% of this cap

I could see ingame that you were over the 50% mark. When you took Bangkok you perhaps DOWed without CB (4 BB points) and then took it in an offensive war (2BB points) and then lost it in a fake war with AUS (-1BB point). That is in total +5 BB points for you. Huh, costsome HAL :eek:o

I can see in the saves that you had 33BB when we started the session and 29 when we ended it. Your cap cannot be seen at the Russian site. Load the save and check.

And remember that the BB cap depends on the DIP skill of the monarch (that also can be changed by events).

Assume you have a good DIP monarch and an excellent minister event working, taking you down to below 50%. Then you take Bangkok, gaining 6BB points, and the event stops working, perhaps your good king dies as well, now you look at your stab cost and you see: shit 9000d. What happened you ask! Well, it was the 50% level of the BB cap that hit you. The difference in size (+50%) is eminently possible, not least because the multiplier comes ahead of the inflation multiplier in the formula.

-------------

It is paramount in EU to "always" lie below 50% of the BB cap. Whenever I see one not doing it I laugh silently for myself. When, as happened in this game, such a person even spams his opponents with pirates (thereby risks getting extra BB points) I open a bottle of Champagne and celebrate! ;)

I was trying to count my stability costs, but it is to complex. Beside I think there is no chance to reduce them by edits. What a crap... I shouldn't toke that stupid Bangkok...
