Did I miss a lot? I was waiting in the loby for long time and then give up thinking that you ended for the night.

How much longer did you play? And what happend to OE-Pope? Was Russia involved? I was out of the game right after Poland ofered my RM... :wacko:

You didn't miss much. We played about 2-3 years more and called it a night. Nothing happened in the game. France and Austria were mostly rebuilding. We finally did rehost after Hyz was bugged, and decided to call it a night since a few of us had to go to work today.

Overall a good session with an exciting 1 on 1 war between France and Austria. Pretty close, although Austria had the edge, and the peace was minor. A nice, limited war. And thankfully, it kept me from falling asleep in Poland.

Russia wasn't called in the OE-Papal war. It'll be a 1 on 1 war, since the Pope didn't call his ally Poland (fair is fair). Should be interesting, too bad I can only watch one side of it. Sweden seemed to do well also. He's allied with the Netherlands and has built a number of conscription centers.

I released Albania and Pope DOWed it, I told him I'd declare war if he landed any troops. He did so I did.

Good session for Portugal, trade 10 was reached as well as land 41. Stability remains high, and Portugal's navy is now second only to her ally England. Crete was bought from Austria, adding a strategic Mediterranean port, and many African pagans were converted. Colonies were founded in Ceylon, South Africa, and South America and breweries were build throughout the empire. Also an expeditionary force was sent to the Adriatic sea to observe the Papal-Turkish war over Albania (Lethke: don't forget to send the fleet back to port, and there are a few ships in the Turkish port of Corfu that you won't be able to see, but you can access by clicking the port or using the pageup command). Forces were also gathered for an attack on the rebel haven that is Zimbabwae which will feel the wrath of God soon enough. An offer was made to our cousins in Spain to buy the isle of Malta, but no response was given. Portugal has truely entered her golden age.

Lethke, seems it takes a sub 1 turn to get Portugal into it's golden age whereas you couldn't do it in 300 years lazy git :rofl:

FYI to all:

Spain is currently in violation of trade restrictions (monopolizing Delhi when a max of 5 merchants is stipulated, as well as continuing to expand trade when asked along with holland, etc. to desist). For the benefit of all nations wishing to trade in Ottoman COTs I will now ask spain to stop sending merchants to Delhi for a period of 1 year.

If they continue monopolizing or expanding trade during the 1 year period I will have to take further measures.

To Holland. OE is giving your fair warning. Any agresive actions vs OE after it give you fair warning will give Russia CB on you. First ruller of Holland did agree to the rules so live by it.

I don't understand what you're talking about. Any traders I placed in Russian CoT's was a result of them being competed out to a level of 3 or lower. I've never tried to monopolize Russian or anyone's CoT's.

What are you referering to about aggression against OE? I have no issues with OE ever since it lifted its embargo. Is there something going on that I'm unaware of? And what is OE giving me fair warning about? I really don't understand.

The Netherlands has no intention of flooding italian markets, she merely wants to place 5 merchants in the markets of Liguria and Veneto. Anything less is unsatisfactory and an embargo will not be tolerated. However, the Dutch are willing to overlook this indiscresion if the Pope is willing to lift the embargo. Dutch merchants will sign an agreement not to compete out Italian merchants and promise not to go above 5 merchants in an Italian COT at any time.

Is the russian Czar looking for an excuse of war, or is it his well known mental deficiency speaking?

It is has being a long kept policy for england not to look to dominate external markets, and to restrain from having more than 4 trades in not national markets. This is only done of good will, and with great effort due the superior trading skills of our merchants.
In the particular case of russian markets let me inform the russian czar that english merchants only trade in ONE russian CoT, and the level there as of 1749 is 4 (and usually kept at 3). The reason? russian CoTs are not upto standard with the rest of the world, and not merchant in their sane mind will venture to the doors of Hell, not even for allthe gold of the world. Of course we do not expect the russian Czar to be capable of knowing details of his own markets.

As today, His Majesty reserves the right to either cancel all trade in the russian markets, or look to increase the levels in all russian markets. Also, He has order a small task force of 400 ships to sail to Ivangorod to ensure that our merchants are threated with respect and according to the international trading laws.

Russia is not looking for war, but please moderate your language when addressing us. You wish to send your fleet here? Do it. You may even park them in our port as far as we care. Every one knows that you are #1 Navel power, but do not think that you have a chance of wining any battals on land with Russian army.

Our trading problem is mostly with Holland (which did push its traders in Astrahan and Moskow to 6 few times in last few years). We mentioned England only do to the face that few times when we looked on Moskow COT it had 5 english and 5-6 Dutch traders and only 3 Russian.

We have no problem with loosing trade to other powers in international COTs but we will not allow such thing in ours. Russia will have 5 merchants minimum in our COTs or we will start embargo powers that we loose most trade too. If your king has the freedom to open all markets to English traders (even by force) our Tsar has same right to close our COTs.




PS. My worning was to Barca, as I was under impresion he was talikng to OE. I have a problem with 2 people talking for one nation. Stony and Barca talk as Holland and make a confusing situation.

If you can get England to take the embargo for you, me embargoing English instead of dutch, I will shift the embargo. It is unlikely. There is simply no room for the Dutch in Italy. Please, trade somewhere else? What's wrong with Kansas, or Nevada?
