Yes in both counts! we have used non-host save a couply of times IIRC

Events
Slargos means all historical events. Most events have a range of dates on which they can occur. If you play a session, and a player saves, then the player save will not have the events listed that occurred during that session. Therefore, if the events that already happened have a trigger date that extends into the next session, then the events will trigger again.
I believe we had that happen when Daedalus had the English Civil War event happen 3 times before we returned to the host's save.
And no Lethke, it doesn't effect random events. Nice try.

that's the one responsible for me staying up still midnite my time on a work nite watching my Stars or Rangers (MLB) play those teams in their division on the west coast - most unstableand we have used a non host save before...

I believe I did fought at least a 2x civil war, so I dont think we returned to the original host save. Well, will never know, is something we have to live with, and I have no problem with it.

Also, how was the connection with 12 players?, if you managed to have a war with 12 players then it was probably very stable.
