For whoever is playing Sweden: Well, I trust your common sense mostly. Stay allied to Brandenburg and Palatinat, and PLEASE try to become the alliance leader so that Brandenburg isn't calling the shots It seems their war cycle is less than ten years.
For treasury and research, you can probably back off Infra a bit now that we have Infra level six. And build a Goods Manufactory somewhere safe.
DP sliders are pretty optimal; maybe move towards Free trade a little to encourage deflations and exceptional years. Or get Centralization back at 10 from 9.
Army strength is at supportable limit, but still plenty of room for a larger navy
Continue promoting mayors if you like, but inflation is quite under control as it is.

I might be a bit late tonight. My computer has caught spyware-itis. I think I've fended it off using msconfig, adaware, norton, spybot, and deleting random stuff that doesn't belong on the computer. It might strike again, and then I'll need to set the game up on my laptop (brand new, 1.6 GHz centrino. ). If I crash during the game, I'll switch to my laptop. Grrr....DEATH TO SPYWARE!

Well, it was an interesting session to say the least. After some initial instability and a couple of crashes, we managed to get going.
A massive war broke out in the north between Poland, the Pope, Austria, and France on one side versus Sweden, BB, and Palatinat on the other. Feer, Sweden's sub, did a decent job of holding onto Swedish possessions, although with Gotland fallen, Sjaelland about to fall, and the French and Polish navies preventing the relief of these sieges, peace would be his best option. Only a generous peace on the part of the Catholic countries will prevent this from completely unbalancing the balance of power in the north.

However, if Vince really wants to keep it going, its only a matter of time before Copenhagen falls, and then the peace becomes much, much worse for him.
Also, you forgot the pope stonewall, the pope is the alliance leader for France and Poland. Austria is leading its own coalition of minor German states.
In the meantime, the Ottomans and Russia are dismantling Persia. Spain and Portugal fought somewhere overseas. P.P.'s crash in the middle of the sesson during a war pretty much ended it for the night, hopefully we'll pick it up in two weeks.

Well I'm not sure what to say here; perhaps it's a compliment that my very friendly and diplomatic personality had until now precluded a gang-bang from happening sooner Or it could be coincidental to my absence. I"ll have to see the save game. Sheesh, where's the POR-SPA-ENG alliance in all this? So much for 'RealPolitik'! Okay, I'll have to look at the save file regarding peace proposal and all that. 2) The Ottomans and Russians went to war with Persia.
With our rear protected (the Ottos busy elsewhere), and France willing to support us with his navy, the time was perfect for striking Brandenberg and Sweden.
Now, to be fair, England and his alliance have demanded a lenient peace, which I think is what you'll get.

Vince, there was definitely some provocation on the part of your sub. For non-trading countries like Poland, its a BIG deal to get embargoed from the only CoT you have been able to really compete in. Taelyn must have worked pretty hard to get 5 merchants in that CoT and to have it embargoed for little apparent reason would have made me DoW as well. For someone like England, Spain, or Holland, getting embargoed from Denmark CoT isn't a big deal. For Poland, its a large provocation. Your sub acquitted himself fairly well on the battlefield. He didn't defend BB, but he kept a decent army in the field, has probably gotten some decent battle winning warscore, and hasn't minted much money (your inflation is still under 1%). Diplomatically, he could have done better, but it was a sub and as far as subs go, he wasn't too bad.
I am very, very sorry for crushing last night. My electric power did go out again for whole night. (they are making me angry) that is 2 days where whole town of 2000 is out of power It sucked more that I was almost done with war against Perssia!!!
