How long has it been in this game since there's been a war between two player-controlled Euros (not counting the recent franco-swedish war)... a hundred years? Two hundred? Yep, a simulation of the sixteenth century at its best
Annexing Helvetia just shows that you're hell bent on conquest of everything. I object to it for the same reason I'd object to Austria gobbling up the rest of Germany. Of course I can't be bothered to intervene myself, what with my perpetual state of war with Austria.
Actually, annexing Helvetia just shows that I wanted that nice little high attrition mountain province on the border with one of France's largest and most powerful historical enemies. Not about conquest, purely about trying to maintain a strong border defense. If I wanted to conquest everything, I would have annexed Genoa when my 10 years of vassalization had run. However, rather than do that, I allied with the pope instead, leaving genoa kind of up in the air. Still vassals, but not annexable for a decent amount of time. If I had wanted conquest, I would have landed my 50k invasion force sitting off the coast of Skane in Sweden and taken a few provinces there or invaded Brandenberg proper and/or the Palatinate and taken some German provinces. Once the initial Swedish and BB armies were destroyed, it my was 125k armies against nothing that could compete. So, I think the WP that was signed was evidence of my peaceful intentions. Plus, I'm just a sub.
