NEW FORUM FEEDBACK (NOT FOR QUESTIONS)

Still learning how to use the new forum, so these are very preliminary observations.

1) So much blank space! Nice on my tablet, but annoying on my computer screen.
2) Now that everything else is slick, the Avatars look hideous.
3) the Right-hand sidebar/bubble with avatar, registered games, etc, takes up a lot of real estate. Both in terms of size--e.g. u/IcratoX makes a short post, the post might be 2 cms on-screen, but his/her registered games are 5cms. Also, it really stands out visually.

At the very bottom of the screen you have a Style chooser. There is a wider one in there if you want it. It's not the primary one so any problems with it is down prioritized. EDIT: Okay, apparently not anymore.

Most recommendations for text is to have narrower columns as it's easier to read.

I keep getting a white messagebox with white text poppinng up when in the forums. It says something like "You have 1 new message" if I highlight it. You might want to look at that. Using Seamonkey 2.33.1, if that's relevant.

i just recently logged on the forum and i must say i looks very nice, and have lot of fuctions that i like, specially the Alerts, but i am really missing the Skin Forum feature, i love the Victoria and the Magicka ones, ¿there are plans of bring those back?

Its currently disabled - bug caused it to work incorrectly - it will be enabled, when that bug is fixed.

The new forums look nice and seem to be working OK. Most forums seem to be up to date with new posts occuring, but the HOI3 : mods forum has no new posts and seem to have lost everything since Mar 23.

Which is correct. We were warned about that.

The register a game page leads to a new page where there is no overview of what games you own and what games you are missing.
I liked the old one, where you could see what you where still missing to register, i hope this will be improved still.

In HOI3 multiplayer and AAR forum it says "You don't have permission for this page" for everybody. So nobody can post or reply anything there.

Is there a mechanism in place on the Watched Threads page to distinguish threads with new/unread posts from those that are read? If so, it's not clear. The different color div backgrounds was handy. An alternative may be an icon that appears - perhaps the classic opened white envelope for read, closed tan envelope for unread?

The Watched Threads page is currently a jumble, thanks to the forum transfer. You'll note at the top of the actual page, the title reads "Unread Watched Threads". Watched threads will only be added to this list when they have a new, unread post, and will not be shown if there are no unread posts. However, because of the forum transfer combined with default setting making it so that any thread you've ever posted in is marked as one you are watching, there are a ton of threads that the forum thinks you are watching, but doesn't recognize that you have ever actually opened (because you never opened them on this forum software). This should clear up over the next few weeks, as you either read threads or remove them from the watched threads list. On threads that you have already opened once before, the thread title will link you to the first unread post, while clicking the date of thread creation underneath the thread title will take you to the first post in the thread.

To see a full list of all your watched threads, whether or not there are unread posts, there is a link on the bottom of the list of the unread watched threads, that says "Show all watched threads".

Apologies if this is 'whiny':

• I'm really not a fan of the Agree/Disagree/Helpful buttons. Not at all.
• If one is relatively active on here, the sheer number of 'Alerts' can be somewhat overwhelming.
• I'd like a page that shows both my watched threads and forums, at the same time (like the first page under 'Settings' on the old forum).

Saying all that, the general aesthetics of the forum are nice (except for some of the avatars of course).

P.S. I'm not sure how to alter my signature, but I'll dig around and see if it's already been addressed on here.

You can alter your alert settings, but not the signature or avatar yet.

Sorry if I was confusing you with my typo, but you CAN alter your alert settings by clicking on your forum name in top right and selecting "Alert Preferences".

When I have started a message using the quick reply box at the bottom of a thread, can clicking the "More Options..." button (which takes you to the full Reply to Thread page) automatically show the post preview on first load?

More often than not I find myself going from quick-reply to the Reply to Thread as just a means of checking how a post will actually display before committing it to the interwebs and auto-showing the preview would avoid an additional click in the process.

Please provide feedback on the new forum in this thread. Provide as specific details as possible, and reproduction steps wherever possible. We'll try to keep it updated with known issues.

ADDITIONS 31/3 15:43 CEST
- Thread notifications that the thread contains a developer post is currently disabled for some optimization (it will be there, think the old platypus icon but even more fancy)
- Some avatars that normally are smaller than the forums standard size is getting drawn out so they get low res and look fussy. We're looking in to how to fix it!

Hi, I can not see any of the links provided by DH support and the link to the DH manual from their launcher gives url failiur. In their support forum I can see only private entries a year ago but the links in them are prohibited for me, even thou I am logged in. Please help cheers
