Nice setup to your FAQs Oranje.
A handy place for all of us to find some answers.
Most of the questions can be put in one place making it easy to find answers for.

I think the game editing to play minors, and other game editing tips and ideas are especially handy to have there.

Good job - and as you say, you'll be adding to it!

I hope Paradox will get a link page to the fan sites as well.

Lot's of nice info.

Small input on the layout though:
A total newbie (and even I) might very much like to read through all of them.
Now it's click link, load a new page, read 3-4 lines of text, click to reload the previous page, click next link ...
Seems like a lot of 'unnessecary' clicking.

Could you possibly add a 'next faq' button on each page?

You're the best Oranje, every day i check for updates to your AAR, its my favorite so far. The Faq is helpful and the Dutch admirals, generals, explorers, and conquistadors is very interesting.

Oh, btw, since 25% or so of your FAQ is cut'n'pasted from mine... would you consider putting up a link to my site somewhere on your pages ?

My html is not so good

It's actually very easy to learn. On my site there is actually a pretty extensive Webpage Authoring links section I made for myself. Got really annoyed about all these 'learn how to make a webpage' on the net filled with errors and illegal HTML when I first started learning. All my links go to the original source with correct information.

If you want to have pages show up correctly in IE (not like mine), don't worry, as long as you don't use Cascading Style Sheets, IE usually get's it right (keep your fingers crossed though)

If you need some assistance to get started your welcome to mail me.
I'll do a quick example file for you if you need one too.

I must add my praises of Oranje to everyone else's. Having visited the Netherlands once, his was the first AAR I decided to read and I was in awe of the detail he put into it and how well the whole story flowed like a soap opera (only better ). And now he gives us a FAQ too! By the time the game finally gets here, I won't have many questions, because I will have read the FAQ 300 times (It's the closest to playing the game as I can get for now).

Took a closer look on how you could add a next FAQ button. It's very easy.

Open up for instance ... faq/qa13-0.html in notepad (it's a .html but it doesn't matter, just drag and drop it to an open notepad window.).

Look for this
<!-- This is where the page content ends -->

Just before it you will find a section with
<p>| <a href='cat13.html'>Back to Category List</a> | <a href='index-2.html'>Back to Main Page</a> |<br>

Here just add the below somewhere between the initial <p> and ending <br> but not inbetween an <a> and </a>.
<a href='cat13-1.html'>Next FAQ in this section</a>

Save it and there you are.

To the next you should add
<a href='cat13-2.html'>Next FAQ in this section</a>

and so on.

It's even even easier then editing a EU scenario file =)

Thank you for trying to help Huszics,

The problem is that all of the faq is generated by a program that works with templates.
Each time I add a question the program rebuilds the whole faq section of the website.
That means that all changes I make to individual .htm files would be overwritten each time I want to change something.

So the only thing I can try to mess around with are these templates.
I'll try, but I'm not sure whether it'll be just as easy.

I do have another question though,
would love to get some help on this one.

I'm trying to make use of the
<PRE> ....text.....</PRE> html command,
in order to keep the way the text looks in the faq on www the same as in the editor.
Problem I encounter is that now I get double spacing between lines.
Anyone have an idea how to prevent that?

p.s., I know it's not really nice to do it like this, because the text won't wrap automatically, meaning lines will have to be short to prevent scrolling, but I think it's the easiest way to do it without some heavy html'ing. If I'm wrong, please help.

No more need to look into this,
found a workaround.
Please be patient, I will improve the text layout in the FAQ but it'll take some time to do it.
