Hi Guys, I just posted my new FAQ in the FAQ forum.

It is a comparison of the 8 Major nations (default play nations) at the start of the 1936 Scenario.

The FAQ is in 4 parts:
A) Military Forces
B) Military Leaders
C) Economy
D) Diplomacy

Here is the link:1936 Major's Start comparison

Sorry Guys, My intent was to give you at least some of the info I had seen requested. I did not intend to create more problems or frustration on anyones part. :(

Please take these numbers with a grain of salt since there are other factors which influence everything in this game. It would have been next to impossible for me to explain everything and how everything works in one FAQ. My intent was only to give you a "snapshot" of the starting positions of the majors.

Those are the two major scenarios in the game ('36/'39), everything else is a distant 3rd and lower.

PLEASE Castellon!

We will see. I might also add a technology section to the 1936FAQ

NOTICE:

OKAY, I have added an entry to the table in the Economy section that lists the starting manpower pools. I Hope that will shed some light.

Sorry guys all for tonight, gotta get some sleeeeep!

Also What are your thoughts on organising the techs.

A) As they are now Complete list by Nation
B) Group them by Tech Group. In other words show each nations Infantry techs together.
C) Both ways
D) Another way I have not thought of. :)

I have to admit that the whole "Reformed Socialist" thing gave me quite an  when I saw it. ;)

As far as manpower pool... USSR with 4800?
That's... 480 infantry divisions! How can you really run through that much manpower (meanwhile the pool is being replenished as well)?!

So basically the 'level' of a commander is what 'rank' he has? If so, then I would put my money on Guderian and Manstein being the Germans' two level 5 land leaders. :)

Thanks for more numbers yet again Cast. :)

Hmmm... I'm wondering a bit about that also. Göring's abilities as the head of the German air force are a bit questionable at best... the main reason he held the position was because of his early Nazi connections with Hitler.

At the start of the war, Germany had 4,000 aircraft compared to Britain's front-line strength of 1,660. By the time of the fall of France, the Luftwaffe (the German air force) had 3,000 planes based in north-west Europe alone including 1,400 bombers, 300 dive bombers, 800 single engine fighter planes and 240 twin engine fighter bombers. At the start of the battle, the Luftwaffe had 2,500 planes that were serviceable and in any normal day, the Luftwaffe could put up over 1,600 planes. The RAF had 1,200 planes on the eve of the battle which included 800 Spitfires and Hurricanes - but only 660 of these were serviceable. The rate of British plane production was good - the only weakness of the RAF was the fact that they lacked sufficient trained and experienced pilots. Trained pilots had been killed in the war in France and they had not been replaced

Rank and skill are connected, not separate. Experience should be in there too.

Okay I should have said related but seperate. ie not as the original poster thought that skill = rank.
I did not include experiance since few leaders start with any experiance points. Maybe I will add a rank summary in the future.

I can't read an actual crisis for the RAF at ANY point during the campaign in those numbers.

I stand my ground. The LW could have whatever targetting policy it wanted, it wouldn't change the eventual outcome. At no point was Britain in any kind of real danger.
I was just giving numbers there, not trying to contradict your statements. ;)

You see, the goals are rather different for each side. Britain was trying to last out the Germans, while the Germans were just trying to inflict heavy enough casualties to mount an aerial assault on the Royal Navy to allow the Wehrmacht to cross the English Channel. The feasability of that prospect... is in question. I'm not really sure if the Germans could do it or not, but it was certainly possible if the German aims had remained consistant.

The German focus (at the start of the Battle of Britain) was to destroy the RAF. Only later was it the goal to terrorize Britain's cities and population (which is the only place that the bomb tonnage really comes into play), which really set the Luftwaffe back.

How could the Germans have won? Maybe with an air force that had been victorious over Spain, Poland, Denmark, Norway, the Low Countries and France, while the RAF had been relatively outdone over France. Though the Luftwaffe had taken severe losses, as was the RAF, which had far fewer experienced pilots than the Luftwaffe. Drain the RAF of capable pilots, then launch an all-out assult to destroy them in the air and their bases on the ground (destroying the British radar capabilities wouldn't have hurt any either). Bam. That gives you some leeway to launch Sealion with good Axis air cover.

Would it have been difficult? Of course. It didn't happen did it? I just think you're underestimating the German chances of success, had a few things gone their way (instead, nothing did).
