i played a little ck2 after stellaris yesterday since im burned out from it. i realized that ck 2 has less events and almost 0 missions other than stellaris. several events popping out but no event is game changing or i care to remember. most of these events even repeat itself before ur first character dies.

can we get a dlc that adds 1000+ events/missions with more than 3 reasonable choices to make? can we get some love for ck2 other than broken dlcs? or is that too much to ask for... i want to know what community thinks bout dat.. if u have any suggestions based on these new events or an advice for an already made mod around thousands of events feel free to share it with me :)

CK2 already stutters and lags like hell ever since Rajas of India. I wouldn't appreciate 1,000 more events pausing the game every few seconds on top of that.

Paradox should take stock of what events already exist. The random -10 opinion with landless priest or irrelevant baron events are useless. The game has become a mix and match of design philosophies that do not work well together. Honestly, the game should be rebuilt.

Grass is always greener on the other side.
That said I highly doubt that Stellaris has "thousands" of events, otherwise the game wouldn't be out already.
Not to mention that Stellaris has an entirely different gameplay and thus it's events and the ones used for CK2 cannot really be compared to each other.

If you want more content feel free to try CK+, HIP, AGOT or Geheimnisnacht. They all have their own subforum and they all add lots of events.

I think all of us would love such a dlc. The question is whether or not its feasible to expect that. Every event would have to be brainstormed, developed and coded, then balanced for the myriad situations that occur within this game.

Say an event is perfectly balanced for Christian feudal and Muslim rulers but happens to interact with Tengri rulers in some off the wall way that leads to an infinite gold exploit? Or a random disease event that misses a certain trigger for dissipating at the correct time and wipes out pagan courts? What happens when an event occurs that breaks someone's ironman game? Enraged customers that's what!

well if you play iron man on slow like me it can take months to finish one play.. So i just make sure i save after every ruler change. This way if some crazy bug happens, or your kingdom crumbles from a miss click.. Yup I've done it before like disband the wrong army or just clicked the wrong thing and it's all over. Heck even a power outage or somehow your save gets corrupted.. It's just a good idea to back up your saves, ironman included.

But yes OP, i would love to see more Way of life types of quests/events. They could add packages that only work in certain areas.. Like say a France pack, or GB pack, or viking pack.. ect.. Basically add on packs that expand the previous expansion DLC's, or perhaps multiple expansions. Me personally i'd love to see some Celtic type quests for example.

Basically i'm thinking regional event expansions. The game is pretty large, So i would think that could help with processing power. If you are playing in GB, why have tons of events running in india when they are not going to do anything to effect your game. maybe it would if you crusaded, i dunno.. I have just been playing for years in the tribal lands :)

But my point is, I would love to see greater depth, as far as music, portraits, and events, in unique parts of the maps.

I agree, I think their unending efforts to make the game better have somewhat backfired.

Eh stellaris doesn't have more events then CK2 lol not by a longshot !

Just check the events scripts in stellaris game. while really good and fun for SCI FI standards.
It isn't like CK2 plus humor. well somethings like pyramids was funny LOL in stellaris.
Was amazingly funny seeing them build pyramids after a drunken scientist went down to the planet and pulled a prank !

IMO I feel like Paradox should just go ahead and start making Ck3. Its what we all want. Sure we love Ck2, but come on, Ck3 will most likely play better on people computers/Laptops and have better events and such.

I don't understand why they don't just buy that new Cow, and stop hoping the old one produces tastier milk?

I've no doubt they ARE gearing up for CK3. Chances are it's in pre-production, and awaiting a full production team to be freed up from the other games they're working on to get it underway. They're certainly not going to tell us they're working on it, however, until they're ready to do so. So long as CK2 DLC's are still making good money, I imagine the pressure to get CK3 underway is not that great.

I think what stellaris does well cute are event chains started off by player input. You decide when most event chains start by researching anomalies. Maybe ck2 could fit something similar. Like an option to place your ruler like your councilors around your kingdom with chances of events firing for being away from home, or ruling at home.

Imagine if at the top of your council was you and you get three buttons. The first could be the rule command which you can place in any of your direct vassals courts or your own which gives you rulership based events for the place you are (most of which would happen at home). The second could be a pray button which allows you to visit any religious holding in your realm and have piety events follow. And the third could be a royal visit in which you can visit anywhere on the map that you're not at war with and have events interacting with the local lors follow (although you'd get a regency if you left your nation).

But anyways the most important thing is long touching event chains. One of my favourite ones in stellaris is about gas people that want to change worlds and another of underground alliens contacting you. It'd be nice to have longer event chains dealing with people you don't usually see much of in ck2. Like the serfs on your land, traders in your area, claimants in your court, etc.
