I'm super stoked for AoW. I truly think that has some of the many improvements that EU needs. One of the most exciting features, if not the most exciting is the province overhaul in the ROTW. While this is great and all, I'm hoping that the European continent will get some love as well. I'm aware that there's currently 2 new provinces in France and Castile, but I hope they're not the only improvements. I'm not asking for a fundamental change, just some new provinces here and there to make borders less chunky and add some more depth to curtain regions.
The Balkans and Greek Islands
I'd really like to see Greece with a few more provinces, specifically splitting Macedonia into an interior and coastal province. Also in Greece, I'd appreciate if a few more provinces were added in its southern region. On top of that, I'd love to see more cities like the Croatian city of Split in the northern Balkans. Finally, I'd like to see really populous islands such as Crete and Cyprus spit into multiple provinces.
British Isles
I think having a few more provinces on the coast of England and Scotland would bring a much needed buff to the Brit's military and navy. Having an inland province in Scotland would make military campaigns up there more interesting. Also, I think everyone would like to see the Island of Mann make an appearance. Adding more provinces in Ireland would also be pretty nice.
Italian Peninsula
Oh boy. If Paradox is going to add more provinces to Europe, I'd wager that most people would appreciate this region having the new provinces. Adding new provinces around the Po estuary, Italian alps, and Lombardy would make playing a Lombard minor much more interesting. Adding the city of Syracuse to Sicily, which was an important city in the Mediterranean trade scene would definitely make me happy. In addition, I'd like to see Roma split up into more provinces. Something that probably isn't necessary, but would be nice is adding the island of Elba, where Napoleon was exiled to the first time around.
HRE and Poland
I'd like to see the province of holland decided into north and south parts to show the provincial divisions. As there's a new trade node in the Rhineland, I think it would be logical to add new provinces and maybe even some new nations within the node. I know for a fact that people with knowledge of the Danzig area despises it's represented borders in EU4. Because of this, I'm sure that this area should be a high prioerity place for Paradox to improve. I would also like to see Ostprussen split into more provinces.
Scandinavia and the Baltic Sea
From what I've seen, everyone's pretty cool with Scandinavia, which is fine. Though I think everyone would like to see some of these huge provinces split up into more. Personally, I'd like to see Akershus and some other big Norwegian provinces split up. I also think it'd be nice to see Uppsala and more colonizable provinces in Greenland. When it comes to the nations east of the Baltic, I'd like to see the Livonian order get a few more provinces, especially in courland, and Ösel.
That's all I can think of for now. I'd love to see what you guys think of this!
