I'd like to suggest to expand the "++" system with more types of effects
Flamers could get "+" to have more ammo, like suggested.

Some examples of what the "+" effects could be are:
  • Ammo = +10 more ammo to use
  • Weapons = -1 less heat when fired
  • Heatsinks = ONE extra point of heat sink and only ONE. And I would prefer "+" on heatsinks to be RARE. The LosTech heatsink needs to be way best!
  • Weapons = Longer range
  • Weapons = Less minimum range
  • Weapons = 0.5 ton less weight per +
These are just some examples that could be added to the ++ system. NOT REPLACE ANYTHING.
I think the ++ system is great and can be built on!

I would also love to see more types of TTS and new equipment which you can put on mechs for various effects.

My suggestion for new equipment could be:
  • Extra Armor plating = Adds X more armor to the part its installed on
  • Extra structure plating = Adds X more structure points to ALL parts of the mech
  • Cooling system = Increases the base cooling per turn
Extra equipment should always have a weight added.

I like that every + isn't the same thing. I'd like to see a lot of different effects per +, which makes more combinations of "++".

What do you guys think?
I could add more types of effects and equipment if devs and players likes this suggestion.

I agree about to expand rare stuff bonuses.
Ammo : OK but you have to set all weapons ammo rare versions, AC/2/5/10/20 LRM/SRM . It could be a nightmare to manage using the actual interface.
Not sure Longer range for weapon is a good idea because you substitute to another more heavier weapon classe for free...but maybe not to cancel.
Less minimim range, OK, but it impact a lot PPC, not others.

I'm agree to add bonuses to rare object, but some adds must be paired with weaknesses.
For plate/structure addition, we have to reduce mobility for example.

In fact we can play with all game concepts :
[Already used]
- Damage
- Stability Damage
- Accuracy
- Crit
- Sight range (only cocpit equipment)

[Not used yet]
- Bin stock (+1 for AC/20, +10 or more for LRM)
- Heat/Heat sink threashold,generation,reduction
- Plating pts
- Structure pts
- Mech Speed (it could be automatic if we do not use all space)
- Weapon Range max/min
- Weapon Weight (for rarer weapons +++ car can mind to reduce the weight to 1 for an AC/20 for example)
- Weapon slot size (for +++ only)
- Crit (as a weakness, for example add damage bonus but add a chance to internal crit 5% ?)

The concept : Add a bonus, or add a bigger bonus but add a malus to conterpart.

And I do not really speak about ammo effects:
- Add Damage but increase heat (or ammo consumtion)
- Plasma bullets to do damage over the time (2 or 3 rounds)
- Cloud making bullets that explodes in contact of the meck and liberates a gaz that reduce the heat dissipation for a time.
- Tracing bullets to increase accuracy during the round, and maybe more if the battle at night (it happens !)
