I absolutely love this game and I can't describe just how I'm impressed as to how much depth it has. I can't imagine what it will be like after two or three years with the expansions that will be coming out. Which bring me to my point.
I think it would be amazing if, accompanying every expansion, new anomalies and end game crisis would be added to the game. Can you imagine how unique our playthroughs will be with new experiences in every game. After all, I think the devs have enough source material to create a certain number of new events with every patch.
Do you, the devs, plan to do such thing ?

This isn't a bad idea, especially if the devs theme each expansion after a sci-fi universe. It'd be quite easy to identify something that could work as a crisis and add it as free patch content or part of the expac.

And these new events would fit the purpose of the expansion (if thy add biological warfare for example, we can imagine a crisis where a virus would go out of our control and transform our pops into zombies...).

They would need to focus on common tropes rather than specific universes. All that Copyright laws and stuff. But yeah, there is enough out there that they could really extend the life of this game, beyond even CK2 standards.

Even though Stellaris is coming out. And I'm super hyped. I'm still checking with increasing interest on the new CK2 dlc coming out soon.

It never occurred to me that a challenge for this type of game would be skirting the edge between homage and copyright infringement.

Seems kinda pointless to have 20 different crises when their occurrence rate averages substantially less than one a game.
Why make a bunch of content that the RNG is going to prevent most people from seeing?

I'm not saying we have to have 20 end game crisis, only a few more than we have now, just enough to have a different end game each time

How do you know how much we have now? I'm pretty sure Paradox don't show all of them already.

I am pretty sure if they announced tomorrow there would be 100 LGC's I'd be thrilled. One of my favorite things playing CK2 is still running in to content I have never seen before. More content. More interesting specific little events. The better.

I think with each DLC we can expect at least some new kind of 'dangerous tech' which would lead to a new LGC.

Have you actually played 100 games of CK2, though?
I've got ~2,500 hours and I'd say that's maybe 50 games, tops.
Personally I think 3 Crises is more than enough. These are not gonna be things you enjoy, you know. You're going to have spent 500 years to poise yourself on the cusp of galactic dominion, your plans weaving through neighbouring stellar empires like spiders' webs, and then Spess Mongolians are going to turn up out of literally nowhere and wreck everything.
We will all despise Crises forever from the first time we encounter them. MUGANI? HAK HAK HAK is only funny until it happens, and then it'll be throw-keyboard-through-screen rage.

I think it boils down to different play styles. I've got nearing 1000 hours of CK2 and I know I've played at least 50 different games. I set out particular goals for myself at the start of a game, sometime it is just to grab an achievement, sometimes it is just to see if I can pull off some stunt, (damn you Duke Glitterhoof, damn you and your accursed line!)

Also, I think expectation is another. I look forward to the end game crisis. Just the same way I would look forward to being invaded by viking adventurers, or seeing some jackarse plotting against me or my son just before the lines of succession changed, and of course every time the antichrist would pop up (only twice in my entire play history!) these were amazing events for me.

I play for the story that I create. Even if that happens to mean the miserable failure of my kingdom eventually.

Stellaris is an impressive game. If they add new anomalies and end game crisis to the game it will become legendary. It will become the game where you never stop discovering new things, even if it's your fifth game. Threads about rare anomalies will spread and others about people sharing their stories about end game crisis no one has experienced too. It will be my favorite game of all time.

For years my friends would talk about our Favorite game. And I'd really have none. It was always 'Ehh pretty much what ever I'm playing at the time' This past year I realized I did have a favorite game. It was CK2. I kept going back. It kept me interested. And I was always discovering something new. Never the same twice.

I feel Stellaris is going to take that spot. However, CK2 will always have a place in my heart.
