Quick Q

I am playing as the dynasty of one culture, but mid-way through the game my character adopts the culture of the native population. I wish to change the dynasty name to reflect this.. to render the dynasty name into that culture. BUT, i only wish to do this for the dynasty that rules in that realm and only the successors... not the extended family of members. I think this will mean creating a new dynasty altogether. Also, in another scenario I might wish to name a branch of the dynasty specifically after an illustrious member.

Is it possible without outside editing while in game? If not... I know I can modify the save... but I am rusty on this. If I modify the save... can I create the new dynasty with new dynasty tag inside the mod and then reassign those family members to that new dynasty?

I may need a tutorial on how to do this part if anyone has any pointers.

Thank you!

I was going to suggest changing dynasty by console then switching to that character to change the dynasty name before switching back but I just checked the list f console commands and I could not find set_dynasty or anything similar, so it looks like you'll have to do this via mod or save edits.

Here's a mini-mod template that gives the player a drop-down intrigue menu decision to change you and all of your descendants (of your dynasty) to a new cadet dynasty. This is only a template so you gotta add your own dynasties and copy, paste and fill in the example decision for as many cadet dynasty options you wish to have at one time. It does require Holy Fury to work, though. Now if you're looking to change the dynasty of a character you can't play as, is already dead, or is simply landless then you can add a dynasty to the cadet_dynasties.txt file of the mini_mod, go into your most recent save and manually change each descendant of that person to your newly created dynasty. In the case of an ironman save, I don't know.
