Perhaps, but forum monkys are not the best test of what players want.

The consumer buying the stuff is the best test. I am willing to wager the revenue off of adding sprites to enhance the game far exceeds cost. If it doesnt, they won't make it.

I get so tired of the anti-corporation/greed garbage talk. Who is John Galt?

I get so tired of the anti-corporation/greed garbage talk. Who is John Galt?

What on earth does a company asking for feedback on future products from a selection of its customers, and a customer wondering why the company apparently seemed to disregard that feedback, have anything to do with "anti-corporation/greed" talk?

Anyway I remember hearing from Johan that there were some DLCs that were already in the process of being created before that poll started, so would this be that content?

That is certainly a possibility, I think they did get the message from the poll.
However these micro transactions don't look like a good deal to me, I'd rather have a full blown expansion or free content updates.

One thing that bugs me about the in-game DLC menu is that after you download it, and after you install it, it gives you a message saying successfully installed, but the "install" button remains identical. There is nothing to indicate which of the downloaded DLC is currently installed.

After a succesfful DLC installation, there should be an indicator telling you that it is currently installed, or an uninstall option, or something else that would allow you to keep track of which ones are installed and which ones are merely downloaded and ready to install.

+1

I am also very annoyed at this. This is definitely something that should be fixed. Its also annoying cause if you haven't installed all of them, they all say installed successfully, making it hard to tell which one was.

The Message from the poll was that 25% want to get DLC....

If 25% want to drive a van and 75% want to drive a car, in that case the car companies wont construct vans because 75% want to drive a car  I dont belive ;)

25% is a large market in business...

Buddy is right. Thousands of people visit these forums everyday. 25% of nothing is nothing, 25% of thousands is quite a lot and nothing to ignore. Ideally, a company wants to serve 100% of its potential customers, given it is cost effective.

When a decision like this comes about for a company it would be silly to run a poll and simply pick the majority answer. If anything it was probably just to get in advance a general idea of how DLC would be received by the community.

I used to groan about DLCs, but come on folks. Each one costs as much as a crummy burger and fries...and making quality art and music is not flipping burgers. Entertainment is a luxury, not a right or necessity. (yet)

I agree as well. Should be added to the bug list if it's not there, I'll have a look.

Edit: had a word with Besuchov about this, and we have to remake the DLC system quite a bit to change this. That will have to wait a while, sorry.

No, the message was that 25% would be open to DLC in conjunction with all types of new content, and 75% only want expansions. 25% being open is not an assured purchase, it is simply ambivalence.

Wrong analogy. This is more like deciding to buy those new 17-inch spinners for your car AFTER you bought it. It still works perfectly without them, but adds to the eye appeal.

don't know what kind of car your driving but my HOI3 is still sitting on blocks! LOL!
Although these visual upgrades are nice (i don't use em myself i like the NATO type
counters better) and were planned earlier having this thread and poll appear now
with all the problems with AI and content still basically unfixed makes them totally
irrelevant.

funny how the "fans" didn't want to release a mod for free. Also funny how paradox even tries to charge us for such superficial things...

Don't try to BS us "American". The game is far from working perfectly.

No one is forcing you to buy the sprite- and musicpacks, so if you don't want them don't buy them. So why would you care that Paradox try to sell them ?
