Agreed. I don't see mixed use happening until cities 2 but at the some time I don't think it would really work well in this kind of game.

Good shout on the park there seems to be no park gate visible at least.

Also there's some sort of red road/path in the top right corner that looks like something new.

Looks like dedicated busways to me. Hopefully that's added as I always find them dead useful as part of NExt2.

To me it looks like a simple content creator pack that adds new networks and buildings, like Bridges & Piers or Modern City Center, rather than a full expansion pack like Sunset Harbor or Airports.

I don't think they got away with a pedestrian street without rewriting any code. The building assets might be a content creator pack though.

Haven't they done it yet? I'm sure I'm using pedestrianised roads with very limited traffic on, and that's since 5 or 6 years ago. And they are zonable on top of that.

A modder did it. And CCPs are made by modders, just with CO's resources.
Content creator packs are all assets (or maps) that do not apply new code, and going beyond this barrier in order to have a functional pedestrian street in the vanilla game is required. A completely new street type being outsourced is unlikely.

Having a road that only pedestrians and service vehicles can use might be possible by a modder but I doubt that the retractable bollards functional is possible by a modder which makes me think that it must be a DLC or at the least a game update with a DLC at the same time.

I don't know about that y'know. I imagine a system based on the functionality of Level Crossings is doable. The dudes behind the Lifting Bridges did pretty well after all.

That looks very interesting.

I'm thinking pedestrian roads which service vehicles can use by going through those retractable bollards.

Perhaps a DLC focusing on town centre/commercial areas maybe.

If this is the case then they better include some sort of parking lots. Fingers crossed.

I like the 'coming soon' bit. Paradox normally doesnt promote anything like this unless it's coming really soon so hopefully this month or next.

Helipad building is interesting. Don't think that exists yet.

Either way very much looking forward to something new whatever it is.
Bingo ;)

Could be interesting. I do think CO need to lay off the Parklife style area brushes if they go that route though. It's already a bit of a pain scrolling through them all, and I don't really think something like this really needs one.

I'm expecting these new DLCs to release either this month or next in which it would mark 7/8 months after the Airports DLC.

Very interesting how after an almost 2 year wait between Sunset Harbour DLC and Airports DLC. Potentially they are back to their normal DLC release schedule.
