New Countries

Hello, I'm trying to implement my own countries... I'm not very good at modding and I was wondering if any of you could lend a hand? My first attempt is to create an etruscan country out of Etruria... I created all the files but when i go to the game, the country is named ETR... Any way to fix that?

You need to add your country to a localisation file. Check localisations\countries.csv for examples of how to do that (I suggest you open the file with NotePad or another text editor; Excel seems to mess up the formatting from my experience).

So it should look like this you think? Idk why there are so many names for the examples in there.... haha

Example:

ROM;Rome;Rome;Rom;;Roma;Roma;;;;;;x
RO2;Roman Rebels;Rebelles Romains;Römische Rebellen;;Rebeldes romanos;Ribelli romani;;;;;;x

Mine:

ETR;Etruria;;;;;;x
ET2;Etrurian Rebels;;;;;;x

It should look like this:

(Though I think "Etruscan Kingdom" and "Etruscan Rebels" would be more accurate, but that's just me.)

You can add your country to that file (though remember to copy it to your mod directory first), or make your own localisation file. It doesn't really matter, the game reads them all anyway.

The reason it has so many names for each country is for other languages.

Thanks so much! I'll probably go with Etruscan Kingdom and Etruscan Rebels, I hadn't really thought deeply into the naming!
