Hi Chromos: Given my eyesight, any larger screen I use will still be at 1024*768 just so I get the larger text and buttons... ;-)
is this compatible with FTM?
Hi Jarpie,I can't understand why Paradox have still not made scaleable UI, I don't think it would be that hard; just make graphics for bigger/biggest resolution, and then program the game to scale interfaces to smaller resolutions. Of course they would have to check all resolutions that fonts and buttons are not too big or small.
What annoys me most in Paradox UIs is that all graphs are too small, like the triangle in HOI3 diplomacy screen, and piecharts in statistics.
Hi Surray,I almost couldn't find it because of the name.. "AHOI-Treasure-GEM-GUI".
That's not a very informative title unless you know exactly what you're looking for. Maybe that's why it's not used? People don't know it exists?
Now that I know it exists I'll definitely grab it.. as soon as there's a FtM compatible version. Thanks for your work, Chromos. The UI looks really nice.
wowthis is impressive work!
Hi vgo,You should make one for ICE and DI:G too.
It's really annoying to have a small postcard sized panel in the middle of the screen when there's tons of room around.
Hi WarDog,I'm impressed with your work! I use 1920x1080, and would like a higher GUI resolution.
The reason I do not use your work is that it is a mod.
You have now gotten the attention of the devs. It would be nice if something like this would be a part of the core game.

Hi Jazumir,It´s 6) mostly for me, with the important addition, that fonts get really small. I got a 22" sceeen and run the game at 1280x800 - which is fine. But on 1680x1050 (highest res for the screen), i get issues reading the numbers correctly - and reading numbers is my job, as i am a freaking meter-reader!
As far as the controls being avaiable on each tab-screen in HoI3, i dont have any specific desires to what could be altered. I feel like i can access everything with reasonable ease... not trying to discourage you, but you asked... I just rather have readable fonts, than longer lists.
Second time I've read this post and I've yet to download it so I guess my answer is just pure laziness since I'd like to scroll less and I'm all about time savings for the micro-managing (http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?545518-Unit-detail-in-the-build-query-in-the-production-menu. I just started a SF HPP game yesterday; I'll download this GUI today and see if I can get it to work; I'll post comments if I get it up and running.

Edit:
-WOW! Very impressive. I have an Acer 22.5" (viewable) monitor (H: 11.75" x W:18.5" viewable, a little more boxy than some), play at 1680 x 1050, and sit approximately 2.5 feet away from the screen (I actually measured, lol), and I also wear glasses. I see a subtle decrease in the font size but frankly it doesn't impact being able to read it. The item boxes that need to be clicked are sufficiently large, larger than many tabs in programs like browsers, word, and excel which most people use fairly often. I think this GUI is great and don't plan to go back to anything else. You're a good man (woman?) Chromos.
-I really like the color changes to the HQ's "XXX's"
-I also have a dell 21.5" (viewable) (H:10.5" x W:18" viewable) which is more rectangular than my Acer; I'll have to check it out on that screen later since I've noticed differences with other programs on that monitor in the past.

Hi Marshall,"I did also a version for Std-HOI3 and one for the HPP-Mod but the feedback and usage(donwloads) is nearly zero."
I have it up and running with SF 2.04f but I don't see an option to download it for the HPP-Mod? Anybody know the link?

Hi Garmorn,I just installed this and it got rid of the horrible repeating sound bug.
Looks good.
Edit: Looks good but that repeating sound bug is back. I wonder why it did not appear the first time I used the GUI?
Hi 208,I don't use a mod like this because I don't have a problem with the GUI as it is, though I use a larger resolution (I run windowed at around 1700x1000.) Even if the management screens do not scale up, I have never found myself wishing they were larger or that they showed more - they do their jobs well enough as-is, for me.
I will give this a shot when its available for FtM. I currently play the game in 1680x 1050 which is scaled down (larger) than my native resolution. I do this only because some of the GUI is difficult to read-especially the items in red. If this enables me to use the native resolution-that would be great. I do use the mods much more than vanilla though; August Storm, HPP and ICE.
I will try this out-thanks for your work.
Hi Dieselboater,Same here! [[bump]] and same result - I will try with HPP immediately, and will look for it ASAP for FtM and also for DIG...
Thanks!
Hi Garmon,
do you write here from the official interface changes? Or are you writing from changes in Mods? And then the GUI-Mod for the Mod has to be changed again?
Whow!
Much feedback. Thanks! Some answers.
Hi Jazumir,
It is not discouraging. No feedback is discouraging..
If I understand you right you would go for a higher res if you had also big enough text to be seen on even 1680*1050.
IIRC also Devildread wrote something like this. As he plays it also in lower res because it is hard to see above 1600*1080.
Well, I'll see what I can do..
The sound bug is minor but irritating FTM bug that causes some buttons to constantly play their sound as long as the mouse is over the button. And yes is has been reported.Would be nice to have also some answers from the others to my question of post 9.
Best regards,
Chromos
Hi Garmorn,Some of both. Early on and specially with HOI2 mods there where constant changes on what was displayed. I download this one because lot of that has stopped and the GUI modelers have gotten better at keeping up with the changes.
I agree with this as it is a part of my problem (but at even lower res.) , specially to my 50 year old eyes. My native resolution is 1920x1080.

Thanks for the mod by the way. I sorry it took so long to respond but had family time this week end.
Hi Cpt Crash,Hi Chromos
I installed the basic FtM GUI mod. It is really, really very nice. It does not seem much larger, but it is very much more clear and sharp. I am still using 1680x1050, but will now take it to 1920xwhatever native resolution.
One area in the techs practical tabs, the standard game along with some mods, would flip flop the practicals for light aircraft and transport. That is not happening in your mod-more precise response from the interface.
It is also very good that it does not change the checksum. I would like to put this into August Storm-it could be the secret weapon I need to destroy a crazy human Empire of Japan player. I noticed you already have it for HPP-any plans for August Storm?
BTW-Media Fire worked much more easily than the other two download sights. It was straight-gave me what I wanted without the sales pitches.
Anyway-you did a fantastic job with this. This is a bigger improvement than some costly expansions.I will checkout the expanded mod soon.
So, I won't have to resort to eye glasses for game playing. Thanks.
Hi Cpt Crash,
How is it with 1920*1050 then?
That would be great if you can add your mod for AS. Your interface changes are an astounding improvement for the game for me. In the techs area for instance I tend to have 30 or so in the quay. With your 21 viewable lines (VS 7 in vanilla) the task of prioritizing is far easier. It's not just 3 times easier with triple the info, it works out to more like 10 times easier. It is simply a pleasure to use.
I guess some people don't use mods for the simple fact that they aren't official.
