I'm not sure if it's been mentioned already (if so my apologies and just ignore this post), but a few events seem a bit strange - though the scale is real small.
First, the Afrika Korps in the Bledow desert gives supplies to the player rather than costing and it should be the other way around right? I think also one of the Hungarian and Yugoslavian state visits also provide supplies, rather than costing.

Now there was one thing more... if only I could remember it. Guess I'll have to get back to you later :)

Thanks for a great mod!
Thanks for the feedback, I'll take a look at it for v0.9 :)

You'd have to go into the database tech folder adn edit the length of time it takes to research the techs. it does take quite a while for some of the techs like the submarine research. Basically if you ever wannted mess around with those subs you have to research the stuff all the way through the war at the beginning because otheriwse you'll run out of time.

Well, CORE prides itsself with providing a more realistic approach to playing HOI (and they're doing a great job). Tech-rushing has been made a lot more difficult (and rightly so). Most techs have been completely overhauled ... I find it not easy but doable to follow historic research (forfeiting rockets and nukes)

Additionally on the hard and very hard difficulties (maybe just Hard-CORE ?) they have tweaked the research-costs (ICs) and research-time ... making it even harder ... all that said ... I find it makes for a more interesting game as you'll have to take France in 1940 with PzI, PzII and Pz38(t)s instead of IM75s.

Appart from not using CORE, manually editing research (maybe there's a general research-time factor (like 120%, 150%)) or trying a lower difficulty (might not work) I'm afraid your out of luck. If you adjust your gameplay I think you'll have even more fun (more realism)

Does the time double or triple with respect to vanilla ? If so then take a look at the IC-cost, IIRC there are a lot of techs that cost only 1-4 ICs. Some of the doctrines and golden techs have a very long build time to ensure that ahistoric things don't happen (air-golden doctrines takes 2 years or so ... so you won't have jet's by 1940)

Too much troops for the hoi engine???

I play with hoi 1.06c and c.or.e. v085,i have a 3.2 ghz with 2gb ram,i usually modified the values of a single province (industrial capacity,manpower,iron etc)for become invincible,and i obviously build an incredible quantity of divisions,so it's incredible but at 1943(when i've produced mmmhh ..50 and more)divisions (12 men each one)the game crashed(the pc say to me(an error occurred in hoi),anyone has experienced the same problem like me???? :confused:,often the game crash when i have yes,a lot of troops but
it crash even if the new order events for core happened?
the error are a bugs of the core mod or an hoi engine limt??

There's a code block in each country (INC) file which sets your global research modifiers, if you want to 'cheat' and make research faster or cheaper then that's how to do it in 30 seconds.

Example (Argentina, 1939 scenario):

Code:
    	research_cost_app = 1.00
    	research_cost_theo = 0.90
    	research_time_app = 1.00
    	research_time_theo = 1.00

Hi, i'm using version 0.85 of C.O.R.E, and the night battle penalty modifiers are crazy. The attackers get -550% and the defenders -525%.
I have re installed it many times but i still doesnt work. I have HOI 1.06c and i have installed v0.84 of core and last v0.85. I have downloaded the patches from the official core site and the other from the paradoxplaza.

I also had this problem with previous core mods. And by the way, the night battle modifiers are normal when im using vanilla HOI.

I have allready searched the forums but i didnt find anything, sorry if this has allready been posted.

Please help.

That's working as designed, the intent is that battles should pause during night time. This extends battle durations to more reasonable times, corrects the problem seen in vanilla HoI with defender 'counter-attacks' during the night (as the attacker had a larger penalty their losses were much higher at night) and better matches the historical situation where night time engagements on a division or corps scale was not the norm during this time period.

I had a look through our documentation and didn't find any explanation about this. I'll add it to the FAQ for the v0.9 release.

Hi, great mod! :)
However, there are some things i concider outrageous ;)

I downloaded 0.84 and 0.85 recently. I started as Uk. By 1937 my mp was at 0! Therefor I could not set up any divisions... and I had only made like 5 divisions. And worse, my manpower would only be extended wit 1.1 points each month. This is rediccolous!

Do this happen to you as well, or have I done something wrong during my instillation :wacko:

This is by design. Historically the UK did not have mass conscription in the pre-war era and it was only as it became obvious that there would be war with Germany that they increased the size of their armed forces. As any democratic nation you need to carefully consider how to use your manpower in the pre-war years and focus most of your IC on research rather than units. You should also look at low-MP cost units such as air and navy rather than making infantry divisions :)

Note: As the UK you do get yearly industry events that give you IC without a manpower cost. This means you can either go for a 'double hit' and get good IC by expanding it both via events and normal factory building (at 1 MP per industry) or get free industries via event while building units with your available manpower.

Once the war begins you will have access to a far greater manpower pool and better manpower growth :)

Been playing CORE on and off since 0.64 and I have to say that this is a great mod. Just some errors with the New Order events that need sorting, and some suggestions as well.

For example, a puppeted Britain in the axis will still have Britains old events. So, when I, as Germany invaded Greece after the New Order events, Britain had events bringing Greece into their allainance, the Axis.

Notes on Italian puppet Egypt: Give it claims on all of Egypt, and events for Germany or Italy to cede the rest of the country.

If Germany is supposed to give occupied France to Vichy (Vichy gets claims on it) there should be an event to do so.

Oman should have a sue for peace event, similar to the ones for Yemen, Australia, Bhutan, and Nepal (and some others). Peace with Netherlands events would be helpful, perhaps giving Germany some of their colonies, and a puppet status.

Well, the Dutch surrender fired correctly upon reload, so don't worry about that.

I think you can fix the Britain events by simply adding a trigger of not allied to Germany. I haven't coded anything for HOI ever though, so I'm not sure.

BTW, I voted for CORE and TGW.

Why France keeps DOWing me?

Hi guys,

Relative new to this game. Playing CORE, as Germany.

I start building up my economy and put research in highest priority. At same time, trying to influence neighboring nations and bringing them to my alliance (with all I took military control). Planning war only in 1939. Everything was good until France Dowed me.

I quit and loaded again losing 2 months. For my surprise France attacked again. What the hell??? Loaded again and for the third time France dowed again!! Why is France so agressive? We are playing HOI or EUII??? Just to remember I didnt attack anyone to provoke this aggression.

I've read somewhere that in this game is Germany that choose the time to attack... not france. What am I missing??

Thanks for the help..
